It creates and produces athletic and casual footwear, clothing, and accessories. The third-largest sportswear producer in the world is Puma. Rudolf Dassler created the company in 1948. (1898–1974). Rudolf and his brother Adolf "Adi" Dassler founded Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik, also known as the "Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory," in 1924. The two brothers' friendship worsened until they decided to separate in 1948 and create two own companies, Adidas and Puma.HistoryChristoph von Wilhelm Dassler worked in a shoe factory, and his wife Pauline managed a small laundry in Herzogenaurach, a town in Franconia that is 20 kilometres (12.4 miles) from Nuremberg. Their son Rudolf Dassler joined his father at the shoe factory after graduating from school.
