Pumping Up The Podcast - A Hannah Montana Podcast

Elise is joined by her friend Alex Meleras to break down episode 21 of Hannah Montana, "My Boyfriend's Jackson And There's Gonna Be Trouble." Together they dive deeper into how Jackson fits into Miley's secret life, discuss possible changes to the ongoing theories regarding the HMU, and revisit a question about Nickelodeon from an earlier episode. Alex reveals just how deeply interconnected every Disney Channel show is, and Elise explains several early 2000s references. Nevermind the A-plot, it's creepy AF.

Elise is joined again by her friend Courtney, this time to break down the very fun 20th episode of Hannah Montana, "Debt It Be." The financially-focused episode contributes to the ongoing discussion of who controls Hannah's earnings, while Jackson's behavior takes us dangerously close to another installment of The Hannah Montana Conspiracy Hour. This is also a rare episode where Courtney is on Miley's side, and it features one of Elise's favorite lines from across the entire series.

Elise is joined once again by her friend Kayla, this time to talk about Hannah Montana's nineteenth episode, "Money For Nothing, Guilt For Free." This installment featured a lot of returning things and people (Mr. Carelli! Another Noah Cyrus cameo! The return of Cooper! The return of the famous Hannah Montana concert set!), and it starts a debate which will continue for the next few episodes about who controls Hannah's money.

Elise is joined by her boyfriend Rick for a chat about Hannah Montana's 18th episode, "People Who Use People," notable for being the end of season one's Jake Ryan arc! Rick brings his unique perspective to the table as he questions why Miley bothers with a secret identity, if Zombie High was ahead of its time, and if Jake would really work as a substitute for Frankie Muniz... among other things.

Elise and Alana are together again this week, and they sure have a lot to talk about! It's Hannah-ween in the Hannah Montana Universe for episode 17, "Torn Between Two Hannahs," which features the return of some side characters, the arrival of a character with a Southern accent so thick it veers into a Muppet impression, the mystifying motivations of Mr. Happy Pumpkin Man, and the surprising origin of the song this show is named after. Elise and Alana are also forced to revisit their conversation about the HMU's doppelganger infestation, which has been further complicated by the addition of Robby Ray's twin brother. There's even a tangent about drinking games, along with a very special Oliver Oken Chest Hair Report. I told you they had a lot to talk about!

Elise and Alana are together again for another installment of The Hannah Montana Conspiracy Hour... and to chat about episode 16 of Hannah Montana, "Good Golly, Miss Dolly." Dolly Parton makes an incredible first appearance and she is, in Alana's words, "a vision in denim." Elise talks about the Disney Channel version of a Chekhov's Gun, the Jake Ryan plot continues, as does the conversation around the HMU's doppelganger surplus.

Elise is joined by her friend and recurring guest Courtney to discuss episode 15 of Hannah Montana, "More Than A Zombie To Me." Together they break down a very catty and very costume-heavy school dance, imagine Jake Ryan as the star of various prestige television shows, and offer up some low-fat raspberry love.

Elise is joined by her friend Alana to do a deep dive (and we do mean a VERY deep dive) into episode 14 of Hannah Montana, "New Kid In School." They're both very excited to talk about the first appearance of Cody Linley as Jake Ryan, but things take a turn when some Robby Ray shenanigans create a massive paradox in the HMU. Trust us... it will hurt your brain. In a fun way!

Elise is joined by her friend Michael to discuss episode thirteen of Hannah Montana, "You're So Vain, You Probably Think This Zit Is About You." Together, they decode a cryptic father/son scene, debate the nerdiness of a pair of glasses, and stress the scope of a "worldwide campaign." Michael also finds his future drag name with the help of a main character.

Well folks, we've made it to "That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana!" Elise is joined by returning guest Kayla to break down the many paradoxical elements of episode 12, "On The Road Again?", which focuses mainly on Robby Ray's (and, notably, Billy Ray's) career. So much so, that we hear one of his songs FOUR times in the span of 20 minutes, but no Hannah Montana tracks! Tune in for a fashion breakdown that makes Kayla's eyes hurt, a lot of heavy sighs from Elise, a leap in logic that stops the show, and a conversation about things being cut for time that, ironically, does not get cut for time.
