Don't judge a book by it's cover and don't judge a show by it's title, we have a WHOLE lot more to cover than just two flicks this time around. In no particular order we'll be talking Red 2, The Conjuring, RIPD, Only God Forgives, and Fruitvale Station. As if that wasn't enough we'll be breaking down all of the huge news out of SDCC (Batman/Superman team up....confirmed!). We may get lucky and have a few minutes with our man on the scene Travis Hopson who's been feeding us the great news straight from Hall H all weekend.

It's the final MAJOR release of Summer 2013 this week as the gang talks Guillermo Del Toro's Pacfic Rim. It's sure to be a crazy 90 minutes that you won't want to miss!

If were being honest this should be Episode 12: Tonto and the Minons. After all, isn't that the real draw of these two flicks?
 
The gang will break down the latest Johnny Depp shenanigans and talk about wether or not Gru was able to keep the funny in the animated sequel. Also, as a special addition to the show well be covering The Way Way Back with Rocky Hadadi. 
 

We're about to Channing all over your Tatum as the crew breaks into C Tate's new action flick White House Down. Then we see if Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy can break down the buddy cop gender barrier in The Heat. Well get Rocky to talk us through the latest developments on HBO's Real Sex: Mythical Creatures....err, I mean, True Blood and as usual you can count on being showered in cinematic minutiae!

Here it is folks, the biggest movie of the year Man of Steel is out in theaters and the PDC is stepping into the arena to duke out a verdict. Opinons on this movie are so divisive that it's safe to expect a Zod V Superman battle for the ultimate verdict. If you want to know all sides of the story this is where you'll want to be!

One week until Man of Steel so it's a great thing that we have SO many new releases to dish over. One supremely horrific premise in The Purge, a possibly horrific turn for the Frat Pack's comedy stylings with Vince Vaughn  and Owen Wilson in The Internship and, quite possibly, the big sleeper indie hit of the year with The Kings of Summer. That's not to say we won't talk Man of Steel...cause that's definitely happening too! Tune in, sit back, and have a laugh.      Oh...and don't think we forgot about the Red Wedding....

Why do I know this? Well...I've talked with the crew and everyone's really ready to talk about all things After Earth including the movie itself, M. Night Shamalyn (that spelling's close enough)..and the tendency to put your kid/wife/husband in  all of the movies you do. 
Also on the slate is the magical heist flick Now You See Me, the lead up to the always dangerous episode 9 of Game of Thrones, and last but not least the new trailer for MACHETE KILLS!!! Which...if you know anything about this show's history...is a big deal for us.

This week on The Punch Drunk Podcast the gang sits down to disect and discuss the blockbuster adapation of THE great American novel, The Great Gatsby. We then travel to the seven kingdoms of Westeros to see what's happening on Game of Thrones. It's sure to be something you won't want to miss so make sure to tune in and check it out!
