It's the first episode of December which means, it's time for eggnog and matzahs! We're back from Thanksgiving break, Y'all, and Jack enjoyed turning 25 years old again. He catches us up on his birthday shenanigans.

Then we talk a bit about the best video games based on TV shows. Aside from "South Park," which games would you choose? And while we're on the topic, which TV show should have its own video game? You know, aside from Anthony Bourdain ...

NEWS HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK:

• Lennie James is leaving “The Walking Dead” and going to “Fear the Walking Dead.” Morgan Jones will become a series regular in the spinoff which is cool, but makes absolutely no sense unless the show will have a time jump in its next season.
• “Supergirl” nearly doubled its ratings as CW kicked off its annual DC crossover event, bringing in 2.7 million viewers on Monday
• Netflix has renewed “MST3K: The Return” for another season which will hit the streaming service in the “not-too-distant future,” according to Netflix.
• Amid sexual harassment allegations against Jeremy Piven, CBS has canceled “Wisdom of the Crowd.”
• MTV has greenlit “Jersey Shore Vacation,” reuniting the original cast of The Jersey Shore for a new series. It’ll premiere sometime in 2018 and comes from the same person behind the network’s other new reality series, “Floribama Shore.”
• Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon will host live coverage of the Rose Parade in an Amazon Prime Video live stream, presented by Funny or Die. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Ferrell and Shannon will emcee the special in-character as Cord Hosenbeck and Tish Cattigan, fictional local TV hosts who have covered the annual event for the past 25 years.”

NEWS HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK:

• "The Walking Dead" experienced another ratings drop in its 5th episode of Season 8. The episode brought in 7.8 million viewers which is a 10% drop from episode 4. The Season 8 premiere, which was the show’s 100th episode, brought in the lowest ratings for a season premiere since Season 3.
• Ellen Page will star in Netflix’s "Umbrella Academy" series as Vanya, the black sheep of the superfamily the series revolves around.
• CBS is developing a "Stripes" TV series. The adaptation comes from Trevor Moore, Sam Brown, and Zach Cregger from sketch group, The Whitest Kids U’ Know, and Ivan Reitman will even return to direct.
• Fred Armisen will write, executive produce and star in a new Spanish language half-hour series on HBO. The project is called "Mexico City: Only Good Things Happen," and it’s reportedly about a group of friends in a “dreamy version” of Mexico City who are “obsessed with horror films and monster makeup.”
• Neil Brennan, the co-creator of "Chappelle’s Show," is set to write and host a new Late Night series for FOX. According to Variety, it’ll be a “topical political and cultural talk show” that also has “sketches and man on the street segments.” The last late night show FOX had was "The Wanda Sykes Show" in 2009 — it lasted one season.

NEWS HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK:

• Netflix will likely cut Kevin Spacey from the final season of “House of Cards.” According to THR, “production has been shut down for two weeks (and potentially longer) to give the staff more time to rework a final season that had been almost completely plotted out.”
• Disney is developing a new live action “Star Wars” TV series for its new streaming service. The service is expected to launch at the end of 2019, so we’ll be waiting for this show for a while.
• Amazon is in talks with Warner Bros TV to possibly develop a “Lord of the Rings” TV show.
• Wentworth Miller will be leaving “Legends of Tomorrow” and “The Flash,” marking the exit of Leonard Snart from the CW superhero shows.
• Amazon has picked up a TV adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic book series “The Boys.” Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are executive producers and Eric Kripke has signed on to join them in directing duties on the series. According to AV Club, the comic was “centered on a black-ops team—”The Boys”—who try to stop the corrupt superheroes of the world from abusing their powers.”

• Netflix is continuing to release ratings info for their series, which includes Stranger Things 2. Roughly 15.8 million viewers tuned in to the Season 2 premiere episode over the weekend. 
• Jordan Peele’s production company, Monkeypaw, is developing a “Twilight Zone” reboot at CBS: All Access.
• After the sexual assault and child abuse allegations hit Kevin Spacey, Netflix has halted production of “House of Cards,” announced Season 6 will be its final season and has begun developing multiple ideas for a spin-off series.
• Comedy Central has announced a new Drunk History Christmas Special, titled, “Drunk History Christmas Special.” It’ll air on Nov. 28 and follow holiday-themed stories like George Washington crossing the Delaware River, Teddy Roosevelt’s ban on Christmas trees at the White House, and a re-enactment of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”
• FOX has renewed “The Orville” for a second season.
• Disney Channel’s “Andi Mack” will feature the first coming out story for the network. The Season 2 story is being billed as a “journey” that will begin in the show’s one-hour season premiere episode that airs this Friday.

NEWS:

• "The Walking Dead" Season 8 premiere brought in a five-year low in ratings with 11.4 million viewers tuning in. That’s compared to 17 million tuning into the Season 7 premiere.
• Netflix has renewed "Big Mouth" for a second season
• An authorized autobiographical Hunter S. Thompson series, titled "Fear and Loathing," is being developed by "Get Shorty" showrunner Davey Holmes at MGM TV.
• CBS renewed "Star Trek: Discovery" for a second season has canceled "Zoo" after three seasons and is developing a reboot of "Magnum P.I." because, sure.
• The CW has teamed with "Stranger Things" executive producer Shawn Levy for a new haunted house series called, "Epiphany." The series is described as "being in the vein of the works of Stanley Kubrick and Agatha Christie." According to THR, "the drama is a psychological thriller about a group of gifted strangers recruited to a Gilded Age mansion to solve a complex code that lies within the structure's walls."

It's the middle of October which means Halloween-times are in full effect. DJ SpookNasty and MC Tummy Troubles are extra loopy this week as Aaron was late to record, due to an incredible advance screening of "Thor: Ragnarok," and Jack was already three drinks in. Aside from discussing the important topics of the week, they bring back their Movie Corner segment and discuss the awesome horror streaming app all genre fans should check out, AMC's Shudder.

NEWS HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK:

• “Game of Thrones” stars Peter Dinklage and Charles Dance will executive produce “Qausimodo,” a new TV series adaptation of Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It’s the first drama series to come out of Atrium TV -- which is a new association of international streaming and telecommunication platforms that was launched earlier this year. Meaning, the show will air exclusively to a yet-to-be-named OTT overseas.
• Netflix sorta released some ratings numbers, which it never really does. The streamer says that, on average, more than 8 million viewers have watched at least one season of one series in 24 hours or less. 
• Wyatt Cenac is getting his own late-night show at HBO. The project will be a comedic docuseries where Cenac goes on a “journey to understand some of the big issues of the moment and investigate real-world solutions.” HBO has given the series a 10-episode order and will premiere in the Spring of 2018.
• ABC Freeform has ordered a new docu-series titled, "Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings" which will go behind the scenes of different lavish weddings that take place at Disney destinations around the world.

• Robert Kirkman revealed at NYCC that a character from "The Walking Dead" will appear in a "Fear the Walking Dead" episode.
• "Rick and Morty" is now the number one TV comedy among millennials, averaging 2.5 million viewers per episode.
• Netflix is raising its prices again. The two-stream HD-tier will now be $10.99 a month, with its four-stream family plan increasing to $13.99 a month.
• Finn Jones has signed on for Season 2 of "Luke Cage" which means Danny Rand is coming to Harlem.
• Matt Ryan will reprise his role as Constantine in a two-episode story arc on "Legends of Tomorrow."
• A "Downton Abbey" exhibit is coming to America. “Downton Abbey: The Exhibition” -- which launched in Singapore this summer -- will premiere in New York on Nov. 18. After a limited engagement in midtown Manhattan, the multi-million-dollar exhibition will travel throughout the U.S., with additional cities to be announced. Tickets are available at www.downtonexhibition.com. Prices vary, with adult tickets starting at $30 and children's tickets starting at $15.

• NBC has renewed Marlon for a Season 2.

Hey Clinkers, it turns out Episode 69 was such a special endeavor on our parts that we had to break the thing up into two parts! So, you're welcome.

For the first time in Punch Drunk TV history, we brought a guest on (aside from our lovely wives) to join us in the television chaos. And for you old school Pass the Effin' Remote listeners, you know what that means: It's the return of Jack's favorite game segment, Guess the Premise! 

Coy Jandreau from Marvel Movie News and many acting things joins us, mostly to geek out about comic book things and spread some Lethal Weapon love. But as one would expect things get nutty pretty quickly...

NEWS HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK:

• “The Walking Dead” is now allowed to say “fuck.” That’s right! AMC has buckled and will allow two instances of the f-word each season of “The Walking Dead,” as well as “Fear the Walking Dead.”
• HBO has officially ordered Damon Lindelof’s “Watchmen” series.
• Joe and Anthony Russo are turning the Image Comics’ series “Deadly Class” into a TV show at Syfy. The story is a “coming of age journey set against the backdrop of late-’80s counterculture and follows a teen who gets recruited into a high school for assassins."
• David Cronenberg's “Scanners” is being turned into a TV show. Lionsgate, Paramount and Skydance are all currently fighting to get the series.
• Spike has canceled “The Mist” after one season.
• The final six episodes of “Game of Thrones” will cost $15-million dollars each to make.
• Apple TV is in the process of acquiring new original series to rival Hulu, Netflix and Amazon. One of the projects they have put a bid on is a modern version of Stephen Spielberg’s “Amazing Stories." If done right, it could be a huge win for the platform.
