As the PWHL paused for the Rivalry Series two thirds of the Purple Trio meet up for a genuine conversation about its relevance in the claendar especially as there is now a proffesional league for women to play hockey in as we present our cases

The first month of January was jam-packed and I'm not talking about the raspberry kind as the Frost had a massive start to 2025 despite not firing on all cylinders

In fact Taylor Heise during a post game interview said it perfectly we've been sick, sick, sick with the bug even hitting me despite living in Manchester on the other side of the pond and I'm still not duly recovered given some of my blunders

We also look back on the Minnesota Frost's first stop on the Takeover Tour where they were in Denver hosting the Montreal Victoire as Denver showed out despite an nfl game taking place on the same day

On January 19 2025 the PWHL Takeover Tour made its fourth stop at Videotron Centre, Quebec City as the province got its first taste of professional hockey for the first time in 30 years as the Victoire & Charge went head to head in another heated battle

Quebec City clearly came out in support but I'm still not convinced that if they were to join our league they would be here for the right reasons

On January 12 2025 the PWHL Takeover Tour made its third stop at Ball Arena Denver as our Minnesota Frost finally got to taste the sights & sounds of netural site hockey as they hosted top of the table rivals Le Victoire de Montreal as Sophie Jacques played a huge role in the Frost's 4-2 win in her first game back from LTIR

Congratulations to Denver as you helped break the record for the largest attendance for women's hockey in the United States, you clearly showed you want to be a part of our league

Year 2 of the PWHL has begun and for our Minnesota Frost so does the defense of our Walter Cup as the first month of the season saw us reunited with all of the Inaugural Six and the team showed no signs of slowing down

Some of the highlights of the month of course include raising our Walter Cup banner at the Xcel Energy Center as well as the first set of rematches against our playoff foes the Boston Fleet & Toronto Sceptres

On January 8 2025 the PWHL Takeover Tour made its secons stop at Rogers Arena. Vancouver which with regards to womens hockey holds a special place in my heart but its even more special for Victoire captain Marie Philip-Poulin who got two big goals in her team's 4-2 win over the Toronto Sceptres

Vancouver I could kiss you for not just coming out in support but for selling out Rogers arena with over 19k in attendance for a womens hockey game thank you so much!!!

On January 5 2025 the PWHL Takeover Tour kicked off at Climate Pledge Arena, Seattle as the Boston Fleet gave the Emerald City its moneys worth erasing a 2-0 deficit on the powerplay and sent the game in a shootout where Hannah Bilka got the winner in the shootout to snap their three game losing streak and end the Victoire's win streak at four

With the clock now turned to the new year the Purple Trio look back on what was an unforgettable first year of the Professinal Womens Hockey League reflecting on some of the stand out moments of the past 12 months
