Purpose Beyond Motherhood

To grieve is to know that you’ve loved. 

Navigating grief and loss can be so lonely, but we can take heart in knowing that we are not alone. Our Heavenly Father is ever present, and He will provide the strength and peace we need to get through each day. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, the Word says “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”. Let’s lean into that truth from God’s Word today. 

In today’s episode, we dive deep into navigating grief and loss with Dr. Barbara Byers. Dr. Barbara is a counselor with over 20 years of counseling practice, an author, a speaker, a seminar leader, and a podcaster. She believes in the transformative power of God’s abiding presence in everyday life.

The definition of refined is ‘with impurities or unwanted elements having been removed by processing. Purified, treated, developed, and proved.’

In Proverbs 17:3, the Passion Translation says ‘In the same way that gold and silver are purified by fire. The Lord purifies your heart by the tests and the trials of life.’ Friends, what refining is God trying to do in your life today? Going through refinement isn’t easy, but with God, nothing is wasted. He will carry you through every trial, and bring you out better than before!

Assuming the best isn’t always easy. 

Sometimes people have the best intentions, but what they say doesn’t come across how they intended. They were trying to help or to relate, but instead, it feels a little like salt in the wound.  In today’s show, we dive deeper into how to assume the best even when words hurt and people’s motives seem strange. Proverbs 21:2 says ‘All man’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord weighs the heart.’ Dear Friend, God knows their motive even when we misinterpret it. Let’s allow the Spirit to guide our hearts and show them grace.

We pray that this episode encourages you to choose grace and extend love to others(even when it’s hard)!

Have you ever been in a season of life where you questioned God’s goodness?

If you have, we want you to know that you are not alone in that. Dear friend, it’s easy to feel discouraged during life’s trials and valleys. But it’s in those moments when the enemy uses his tactics to discourage us the most.

Listen, friends, forgiveness is hard!

In a world full of differing opinions and ever-changing cultures, it’s nearly impossible to walk through this life unscathed. At some point, whether intentionally or not, we will hurt others and others will hurt us. 

But where do we go once the hurt takes place? Do we press on as if nothing has happened, or do we choose forgiveness?

Today on the show we are diving into the importance of choosing forgiveness. This applies to forgiving others and also choosing to forgive ourselves when we fall short.

Forgiveness isn’t easy friends, but most things worthwhile aren’t. Listen in to hear where we struggle in this area, what we are doing to work on it, and how Christ can help us every step of the way.
