In this episode, Nicole talks with Heather Butler, author of That Side of Heaven. Heather shares about the loss of two of her babies and how the Lord stayed faithful to her through those losses. She empathizes with other women who are experiencing loss and the grief that follows. Her book shares her story and the stories of other moms who also lost their babies. Heather emphasizes that grief is a process and although it becomes softer overtime, it never completely goes away. Her babies are a part of her and reflect the light of Jesus that she offers others. She wants others to know that joy will come in the morning and that one day those grieving will hold their babies on that side of Heaven.

Our guest in this podcast is Megan Howell. Megan is an author, leadership and legacy coach, mentor, and very busy mom of six. She has a lot going on and she shares with us how she’s been able to give herself grace in the midst of that. In more than one humorous moment, Megan tells the listeners what being a mom is like for her. Her desire is to encourage other moms to give themselves the same grace she has and to let go of the moments they “mess up.” God has recently led her to share what she’s learned through an online course. The course is titled Mastering Motherhood. Through it Megan hopes to help other mothers realize that they are not alone and offer a community where they can go for answers, encouragement, and advice. Moms at all stages will enjoy connecting with her and her community.

She goes on to reveal that her next pregnancy would also end prematurely as her daughter’s heart would fail while still in the womb. She describes this time as “holy,” as she used it to grow closer to God. Her journey of carrying grief and joy at the same time is truly remarkable. Through this, she was led to start a ministry to other women as they face loss. She is truly a blessing to this extraordinary community of women.
