As we reflex on the previous beatitudes we can see a theme running through them. In each of them, we are called to deny our self-righteousness and rest in the righteousness of Christ alone.

We are called to have pure hearts. Listen as we explore Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

We must constantly be aware of God's gift of mercy to us. We must realize daily our need for a savior and that without him we are dead in our trespasses. As we will live in this realization, our natural outflow should be merciful towards others.

Listen as we explore the deep truths from Matthew 5:7 "“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy."

As believers, we are called to pursue righteousness. In this week's Beatitude, Jesus uses some very relatable words to describe how we should pursue after righteousness.

 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." Mt 5:6.

Meekness is not a character trait many in our culture seek after today. Join us as we look at the meaning and implications of Matthew 5:5 -  "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. "

We are continuing our study of the sermon on the mount and in this episode, we are going to look at the second of the eight beatitudes.

Matthew 5:4 says "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."

We will explore the context of this verse and what it means for us as we pursue Kingdom Character. 

Jesus' sermon on the mount begins with what is called The Beatitudes. These are "kingdom blessings" that God gives to his followers. Each is connected to a character trait that contrasts with what the world is seeking. This week, we will explore the first of  these eight beatitudes.

Our character often dictates our actions. The mental, moral, and spiritual qualities that we hold dear directly impact our choices.

Over the next several episodes, we will explore the Sermon on the Mount and look at how we can align our lives and character to what the word of God sets forth for us.

In 1937 Dietrich Bonhoeffer released a book in titled "The Cost of Discipleship." The book is centered around the Sermon on the Mount and breaks down the many character traits that should be displayed in the lives of believers.

He begins the book by examining the difference between cheap and costly grace. As we begin our study of the Sermon on the Mount, we will also begin with this topic. Our understanding of God's grace is essential if we ever want to live out the character God has called us to.

Because of Christ, we can experience new life in our mind, body, and spirit, yet we still battle with sin. We are not alone in this battle. Christ is the one who won the battle over sin, and it is only through Christ that we can begin to lead at all.

In this episode, we will uncover three steps we need to take to become the leaders God has called us to be. 

In this episode, we are going to be focusing on how we are called to lead in the work we do. Our work is a gift from God. It allows us to engage with people we might never engage with. We must take advantage of this and work with purpose, serve those we work with and for and share how Christ has changed our lives.

In a culture where we experience constant attacks on the traditional family, we, as Christian men, must stand up and lead our families.  We are commanded to lead our families and lead them in the way the Lord has ordained us to.

When it comes to family leadership,  we are called to be priests, prophets, providers, and protectors.
