“The most important characteristic of a remarkable Father, a God-like Father, is the ability to instill in a child the sense that he or she is LOVED to the depths of their soul.” In today’s episode, Gene continues through the story of the prodigal son found in Luke 15.

“On that dark night, Jesus gave him and us the words of life.” Jesus speaks these words directly to Nicodemus in John 3:16, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Have you ever found yourself trying to earn God’s favor? Jesus tells Nicodemus in John 3 that He isn’t concerned with the set of religious rules and rituals that he’s followed up until this point. Just like Nicodemus, Jesus simply wants to have an intimate relationship with you.

What keeps you up at night? Do you ever have a gnawing sense that something is missing? In this week’s podcast series, Gene teaches from John 3 where Jesus writes a better story in the life of Nicodemus, an affluent academic man who comes to Him one night with his doubts and questions.

Will you believe that He can and will write a better story that will be for God’s glory? Jesus says in John 11:25,“I am the resurrection and the life. ANYONE who BELIEVES in me will live, even after dying.“

We can come to Jesus with our disappointment because He feels our pain. In seasons of grief, we can find comfort in knowing that not only do we have a God who cares, but He is always by our side.
