  • Save it for the 'cast! — Issue #85

Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels, and welcome back to another edition of 'Save it for the 'cast!'

Kevin gets things started off with a handful of the goodies that he's been digging into lately — a couple of current UFO 50 favorites, along with a few pixel art platformers that have come up on the podcast in the past!

John & Randall jump into the conversation after that, as we bounce all over the map, diving into a number of various video gaming discussions — including a little more Return of the Obra Dinn chat, Kentucky Route Zero and the way games tackle other mediums, and much more...

  • 187: Let's Clean Up This Entire Ocean!

Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels.  We've got the typical trio back in the house once again, and a whole bunch of video gaming goodies to discuss, so let's get right into it!

John gets things started off with his thoughts on Loddlenaut, as he ignores the adorable Axolotls and still manages to see the credits roll.

Randall picks up the torch from there, as he continues to dump A TON of time into SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters' Clash on both his Analogue AND Neo Geo Pockets.

Finally, Kevin wraps things up with his thoughts on the latest Kingdom: Two Crowns DLC, Call of Olympus, after seeing the credits roll while our old pal DJ was in town for the weekend.

  • Save it for the 'cast! — Issue #84

Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels, and welcome back to another edition of 'Save it for the 'cast!'

First things first...the first ever Pursuing Pixels Community Jam is officially under way!

After that, Kevin does his best to keep the intro short & sweet, as he quickly revisits a few things he's been playings — and in the process, totally forgets to mention that he & John also dive into his resolution game for this year, Return of the Obra Dinn.

After that, John rattles off a whole bunch of the games that he's been booting up on his Steam Deck lately — which ends up leading us into a number of other discussions!

  • 186: Fake Fictional Fantasy Console

Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels.  We're shorthanded again this week, but John & Kevin have been doing plenty of video gaming lately, so let's get right into the action!

Kevin kicks things off with his first impressions of UFO 50 — a massive collection of "retro" games made for a fictional console from the 1980s — from the developer of Spelunky and friends!

From there, John & Kevin take a little time to shine a spotlight on 20 Minutes Till Dawn, after both getting pretty sucked into this one.  Is 20 minutes the perfect length for a roguelike/roguelite run?!

Kevin's also been absolutely hooked on another roguelike in Shogun Showdown, which has an incredible blend of puzzle solving, turn-based strategy, and deckbuilding RPG elements.

Finally, John wraps things up with his thoughts on EVERSPACE, as he continues his quest to find a modern day on-rails shooter that lives up to Star Fox 64.

  • 185: Coins Popping Outta Guys!

Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels.  Everyone's back in the house once again, and we've got a jam-packed episode this week, so let's get right into it...

John gets things started with some various Monster Hunter talk, as he (and everyone else) gears up for the upcoming release of Monster Hunter Wilds.

Randall picks things up from there with some thoughts on both entries in the Rogue Legacy series, now that he's had a chance to explore the improvements of the sequel.

Kevin's up next, as he gushes about the demo for the recently released (in the West) BAKERU from the one and only Good-Feel.

Finally, John wraps things up with Whisker Squadron: Survivor, as he continues his quest for modern day "3D on-rails shooters," akin to the classic Star Fox games.

  • Save it for the 'cast! — Issue #82

Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels, and welcome back to another edition of 'Save it for the 'cast!'

Per usual, Kevin gets things rolling with a handful of the games that he's been firing up on Nintendo Switch lately, with a bit of an unintentional focus on arcade action this week!

After that, we're veering away from video game territory and diving into some music chit chat, for a little change of pace this week — Kevin & John have been on a bit of a vinyl & CD collecting kick lately (respectively), which ends up leading us discussing a number of various artists & topics...

Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels.  We've got everyone in the house once again, and a whole slew of gaming goodies to discuss, so let's get things rolling...

Kevin gets things started off with a duo of indie games that he recently scooped up on Nintendo Switch, HYPER METEOR and Heave Ho, that he's been thoroughly enjoying.

Randall picks things up from there with an update on his time with Balatro, where he has continued to polish off virtually every challenge the game has to throw at him!

Finally, John wraps things up with a few games that he's been revisiting on his Steam Deck — which spins off into a more general conversation about the different types of gamers that we all are.

  • 183: The Heart Calls For What It Wants

Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels.  We've got the trio back in the house once again, and we've all been doing a TON of gaming since we last sat down for a chat, so let's get this party started!

John gets things started off with some nitty-gritty decision making in Disco Elysium, which was his resolution game from this year.

After that, Randall gets into some retro gaming goodies, as dives into Elevator Action Retruns: S-Tribute, and finally gets around to opening up his physical copy of Ninja JaJaMaru: The Great Yokai Battle + Hell.

Finally, Kevin wraps things up with a couple of neo retro indie arcade gems, Goliath Depot & VIVIDLOPE, that have made it tougher than usual to put down his Nintendo Switch.
