We live in a culture that’s profoundly focused on the individual, but a mindset centered on self is utterly foreign to the gospel. Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus is all about unity in the church. In our text the apostle reveals that walking in a manner worthy of our calling involves three things as we pursue genuine oneness. This morning’s lesson will be shorter than normal to accommodate for our annual congregational meeting following our assembly.

But true Christianity is not a “me” thing, but a “we” thing. This morning we’ll introduce our theme for the new year. As we make our way through our readings in 2026 the divine viewpoint will become abundantly clear—we are better together!
