July 30, 201885 - Fort De Sota International Triathlon - Tonia OlsenIn this episode I talk with my friend Tonia Olsen about her recent race at the Fort Desoto International Triathlon. She shares some of her insight of this small race that is not as well-known as some of the larger branded races but is just as well run, if not better. As the sport of triathlon continues to grow and people learn how to put on great races, we are learning that the sport really demands great customer service. This race was a challenge but very rewarding for Tonia. Thanks for sharing your story and I look forward to your race at Florida this year!-Enjoy the show. July 26, 201882 – IRONMAN© 70.3 Mont Tremblant – Rachel McBride Professional TriathleteI only have two episodes dedicated for the wonderful race up in Canada at Mont Tremblant. Do not let this lack of coverage deter you from going to this race. This race is now firmly planted on my bucket list. While I’ve talked to several talented people before, none of these match the kindness, gratefulness, and humbleness of Rachel McBride. Rachel has been doing triathlons for many years now and is being coached by Jesse Kropelnicki from QT2 Training Systems. Rachel successfully used this race at Mont Tremblant as a lead up race for IRONMAN© Frankfurt in Germany a few weeks later. Photo credit: Fred Forgues.-Enjoy the show. July 26, 201881 – IRONMAN© 70.3 Mont Tremblant - George CespedesIn this episode of the Pursuit of the Perfect Race, I talk with my friend and returning guest George Cespedes about his recent race experience at IRONMAN© Mont Tremblant 70.3. He was quite impressed with not only the race venue, but the athletes on the course, as well as the marshals on the course insuring it was a safe, non-draft legal race. While he was there he enjoyed the race and took full advantage of some of the local attractions and coffee shops. She was on the podium at this race and post-race she was fortunate enough to get back to the finish line with the winner, Haley Chura, in time to hand out some medals to age groupers which she found quite rewarding. While she enjoys racing and traveling, she met someone at the race venue that needed help in a quite interesting way. He won the overall age group race by a mere 26 seconds. Dylan is being coached by Haley Chura who won the Professional division here at this race. Dylan has some very exciting news that he was able to share for the first time on this podcast.
