The cause of the abolitionists in the late 18th century to abolish slavery has an eerie similarity to the pro-life cause of today. There was a force, a “Wilbur-force” that tirelessly persisted until the slave trade ended in England, and we need similar leaders to rise up now!  Dr. Jonny passionately describes the cause, the passion and the strategy of pro-lifer William Wilburforce and how this tender culture warrior transformed the heart of a nation. 

There is a famous adage that states, “Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Because this is true, remembering becomes one of our greatest cultural tools. Dr. Jonny explores that whether it is a global pandemic, racial tension or bloody battles it is to our advantage to dissect and learn from past experiences to create a better today. From conflicts centuries old to this week’s headlines, we become better people and citizens when we don’t ignore our past, but when we celebrate our victories and learn from our mistakes.

While the Covid-19 Vaccine is being distributed in full force, there have been concerns about variants that have arisen around the world. There have been a lot of conflicting reports regarding the variants and how the vaccine may be contributing to their creation. Dr. Jonny puts on his medical cap and explains what variants are, what is being done to address them, and what is the most advantageous strategy to combat this new threat. 

Churches were meant to be regional, not denominational, and inherent in the dominion given to us by Jesus, is to tend and keep the land and region we were placed into. Dr. Jonny again describes the power and authority of our spoken word, that even extends to our geographical region. We (or our church) are not responsible for the whole world, but only what He has given us, and what we take responsibility for, we have authority in.

The cultural mandate was given to family in Genesis chapter one. We were given dominion and the Lord brought creation to Adam, “to see what He would call them.” Dr. Jonny explains that, through Jesus, our dominion has been restored, and it is the kind of authority that enables creation to develop and open up as it should. We have the power to release blessings (or curses) over our family, co-workers, politicians, or anyone of the thousands of opportunities He bring us in a lifetime and waits to see what we will name them.

In contrast to absolute truth and basic biology, the radical liberal agenda preaches that the question of sex is changeable, progressive and fluid. Dr. Jonny explains that they are trying to convince us that feelings dictate reality, but the fruit of their labor is a break from reality, confusion, endangerment, a loss of common sense, and ironically, discrimination.

Dr. Jonny explains that the Equality Act does nothing to protect or help the LGBT community, while at the same time, looks to weaken or even criminalize any opposition. We, as Christian families, need to be vocal and unwavering because this extreme and dangerous legislation would create unprecedented harms to businesses, charities, medical professionals, women and children, and entire families.

Statistics show that the LGBT community is hurting, in pain and is bleeding.  The secular world tells them that bleeding is normal.  The church community tells them that their bleeding is too messy and they should stop bleeding. What they really need is compassion and for someone to help stop the bleeding. We need to stop focusing on behavior and start focusing on the pain behind the behavior! In this podcast, Dr. Jonny compels the church to follow the example of Jesus, which was uncompromising compassion.

This episode contains adult content, parental discretion advised.  All humanity battles with identity issues whether it be spiritual, social or self-identity.  Why would we think gender (or sexual) identity would be any different? Our past life experiences and, more specifically, our past pain and trauma effects our behavior. Dr. Jonny dives into this sensitive and important issue by postulating that gender identity issues aren’t genetic or a choice, but rather acquired. Healing begins by not rejecting or normalizing their behavior, but rather by acknowledging that their behavior is just a symptom.

Systemic racism refers to systems in place that create and maintain racial inequality.  Our education system could easily be described as one of those systems, but not only in the way you may think, there is something deeper and more sinister at play in our public schools and colleges that is never talked about.  Dr. Jonny exhorts parents and students to stand up and expose the systemic and insidious racism being taught by our science teachers everyday.
