Pushing the Pile: A CBS Sports NFL Podcast

In a season of uncertainty, you might get your most value betting on awards futures. To help us breakdown value picks, the great Drew Dinsick aka Whale Capper joins Will Brinson to discuss MVP, Defensive Player of the Year as well as Rookie of the Year on both sides of the ball. First, the big one...The DNA for MVPs is simply: QBs that can win a lot of games (12:15). Who fits that mold and has reasonable odds? Next up, DPOY (34:00). We're looking for raw numbers and narrative here. Lastly, Rookie of the Year picks might be a little more obvious looking at the top of the board (47:15).

The Superfriends are back together to break down some NFL news and answer your questions in a listener mailbag. Who would win in a tennis match: Brinson or Breech? After that pressing debate is sorted out the guys discuss Dwayne Haskins being named the starter in Washington and expectations for him this season (6:00). There's been some speculation in recent days surrounding Alvin Kamara (13:10). Our crew details what they think of the trade and contract rumors. Joe Mixon and Taylor Decker secured the bag with some pretty big extensions and there's not much to dislike about the deals (23:50)...Then, MAILBAG (35:30)! Who's better: the NFC or the AFC? What is Tua Tagovailoa's ceiling over the next 5 years? Are we hating on the Falcons too much? All those questions and more answered.

Just 2 weeks before the start of the season, the Jaguars have released Leonard Fournette. Will Brinson is joined by Jacksonville expert Pete Prisco to break down the move and the state of the franchise. Why is the team moving on from the former 4th overall pick and why now? The guys also discuss possible landing spots for the LSU product as well as expectations for the Jags this season. First, the guys discuss a new podcast from the FFT crew called Fantasy Football Today in 5 (download and subscribe now!). Will and Heath then hit on David Montgomery's injury and how that impacts the Bears offense from a fantasy perspective (4:30). It's been a long offseason, so Heath has surely fired off some takes that we need to catch up on (15:00). Spoiler: don't set expectations too high for rookie running backs. Then, we get into the players he likes way more than consensus rankings (30:00). Finally the duo answers questions from Pick Six listeners regarding the upcoming fantasy season (46:00).
