Putin's MAX app could snoop on Russians
With almost 100 million users, WhatsApp is Russia's most popular messaging service.
But that's about to change. The service - which is owned by Facebook's parent company Meta is widely expected to be banned later this year. From September all new digital devices sold in Russia must be loaded with a new app backed by President Putin called MAX.
