There is increased use of Emergency Pill among school going girls here at the coast.

Productive health experts are attributing it to lack of knowledge and education among the young girls.

Bodaboda   sector has been hit hard by the recent crack down ordered by the  president Uhuru Kenyatta on rogue bodaboda riders whom have been  engaging in criminal activities.

President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered a crackdown on all boda boda  operators  across the country following an incident that saw a female  motorist sexually assaulted in Nairobi city city.

But there are more question that need to be addressed

1. why  is the Bodaboda business locked down apon yet it contributes 3.4% of the GDP

2. why are bodaboda riders  perceived to be criminals.

Ten out of every 100 women in Kenya find the selves into marriages because of pregnancies.

A research done by African Population Health Research Centre (APHRC), University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Michigan (both from the US) and Population Council-Kenya, has revealed that 87% of men and 72% of women aged between 25-34 years are in informal unions.

Marriages among the youth especially in the coastal cities Kenya are on the rookies why this happening is and how are the youths preserving their marriages

According  to United Nations populations funds UNFPA insists on women to be  provided sanitary towels since it's a human rights issue.

Remember  girls when they get into a certain age their reproductive health  changes and start menstruating and it's here there hygiene level should  increase thus making them to perform well in school.

Due  to this different community based organizations have come to give  support with sanitary pads to this school going children especially  those who live in hardship areas.

Am  focusing on girls at Magongo sub county in Bokole Mombasa county whose  livelihood has changed and they are unable to continue with education  since they are unable to get sanitary towels.

They  used to be provided with sanitary towels by the government but now life  has changed and they no longer get help and instead make them not to go  to school.

These girls  in the area come from poor backgrounds and some of them have forced them  to start engaging themselves in some other activities in order to make  sure life moves on.

At the time coronavirus hit the country it became even worse since many girls were hit by the problem.

Have spoken to teachers and they have spoken that in the process of searching for livelihood girls get early pregnancies.

Kenya  introduced a new system of learning called  competence based curriculum  (CBC) in 2017 which replaced 8-4-4 that has been in used for over two  decades.

The  current system of learning has embraced has introduced lessons which  help learners understand the environment and possible measures on how to  conserve it.
