BYE HALLOWEEN, HELLO CHRISTMAS! Talk about jumping ship… Why are people SO quick to jump ship and switch sides from halloween to Christmas and just forget about thanksgiving like a middle child and it is so sad… and it got us thinking WHY IS THAT?

We got this message from Jen and she is looking for some advice: 

"Hi guys I appreciate you reading this for Parental Confidential. I'm all about sticking to your guns as a parent but I can't help but feel like a bad mom after taking away Halloween from my 7 year old son. He has been misbehaving all week, arguing with his teacher, being rude to his friends, bullying a younger student on the playground, and being a class clown? He can have good weeks, we've seen it happen but Monday he got in trouble for pushing a kid in line who cut him during his class Halloween party, telling his teacher he didn't have to do any work, etc. We warned him Monday if he had another rough day that there's no Halloween. Well he got in trouble once again. I did not want to take away Halloween but we have to stick to our word so he doesn't think he can get away without consequences...He ended up breaking out in hives so bad and threw up when I told him he couldn't go out last night trick or treating. Dunno what I'm looking for here, I feel stressed and sad for him at the same time. I feel like a terrible mom that I did that to him but I didn't know what else to do. Was my punishment to harsh with him only being 7? Thanks for all the advice."
