We got this message from Robin: My daughter just turned 16. For the past 5 months, she has been dating a boy who comes off as the perfect guy according to her but for some reason my husband and I dont trust him and one of the reasons is we have never met him. We have invited him to the house several different times but according to my daughter there is always a reason of why he cant come. This upsets me because I see so many red flags so I started doing some research of who this guy is.She keeps saying he is a star athlete and that he is 18 and recently graduated this year from the high school she goes to. I looked into her yearbook and this guy never went to school there. It was also brought to my attention that he’s not 18 hes 19 and never graduated at all and hes also not an athlete. He told my daughter that he comes from a very abusive home and his parents are struggling. Turns out his mother is friends with my yoga instructor and his parents have a very healthy marriage so that wasn't true either. My daughter will not listen to us and sides with her boyfriend. She is afraid of us speaking with him now as we will ask all the questions she doesn't want to hear and she doesn't want to lose him. This guy has plenty of girlfriends and my poor daughter is blind to all of it.I have tired talking to her and showing her proof but she refuses to listen. My daughter is crying, I am crying... It's her first love and she doesn't know what to believe. Would love some help this morning. Thank you so much for your time.
