We got a message from Jen over the weekend and it reads:

"Hey guys, I wanted to send this in for there I said it but it was just too long winded that I decided to send it in as its own thing… I think we need to talk about just how TOXIC mommy blogs and social accounts are… I am a mom for 3 and I first became a mom used to find a lot of comfort in following a bunch of mom influencers online but more recently I had this “AHH HAA” moment. I had been feeling really down and felt this immense amount of mom guilt and comparison to all this random instagram accounts of all this moms that I looked up to for so many years. And after chatting with my husband and a few on my friends it became so apparent to me that following these accounts were in fact hindering my mental health. And I know I can’t be the ONLY mom that feels this way seeing pictures of this moms with their perfectly filtered pictures with their partner, kids and animals positioned in the best lighting possible is SUCH BS!!! With the caption #SoBlessed. Instagram is a highlight reel and its not real life and moms already deal with so much shame and guilt on a daily basis we don’t need one more thing or person making us feel this way. And I know I sound bitter and I know that is not most of these bloggers intent by any means but at times it just comes off a little tone deaf… SO I GUESS THERE I SAID IT… sorry I just had to get this off my chest and tell the other mommies out there that I see them!"
