We got this message from Julie and we are trying to help her out - she writes:

Hey guys I want to get an opinion on this from you and your listeners, my daughter and I have always had a good relationship granted she is 16 so obviously we but heads but that's normal. About a year ago she got into trouble underage drinking at a party and got suspended from her sports team. In that time we have had many a talks and heart to hearts and I told her she can ALWAYS be honest with me without judgement or the fear of getting in trouble. And I truly meant it, or at least I thought I did! Yesterday she came home from school and told me (not asked, told me) she was going to a friends party tomorrow for St. Patrick's Day… she came right out and told me there would be drinking and that she would be spending the night. Now I feel indifferent because I told her she could tell and I feel like I can’t push back because if I give her a hard time she is not going to tell me anything ever again. I am in between a rock and a hard place and i’m not sure what to do? Parenting a teenager is tough and I need help!
