Q as in Cucumber Podcast

Hey Q Crew!

Well…. here we are. FINALLY. We have a verdict in the Elizabeth Holmes / Theranos trial! It has been a long road and the results are the epitome of a mixed bag. We do not feel as satisfied as we would have liked, but considering we thought she was going to get off completely, we are satisfied enough…I guess.

If you need to get caught up, we have the links to the individual episodes further below.

However, here is the link to our playlist of all those episodes on YouTube!

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLx_q6cCrV0AEdl3IQuybQafKU2WIwwNql

We discuss the charges, the verdicts for each, why we are ticked off, and what happens next…Good lord there is still at least one more trial to go. Ugh.

Special thanks to all who have been on this journey with us! We started covering this shortly before Tanya was diagnosed with breast cancer. So, as time went on, this story repeatedly hit a nerve harder and harder for us. All the people who have kept up with the every detail, even when we couldn’t, and sent us updates, left such nice comments, sent messages encouraging us (even the people who didn't leave such nice comments), and for the love in general-THANK YOU! We appreciate it more than you know. So cheers to all of you! Pour one out for making it through in one piece.

Love your faces and Smooches!

Lara & Tanya

Hey Q Crew!

Welcome to another (partial) Ménage à Trois with Ms. Jessica James joining us about half way through. We break down the testimony and cross examination of Elizabeth Holmes and what is expected to be next in the never ending trial. We also begin our coverage of Better.com and it’s CEO Vishal Garg firing 900 people via Zoom. Some of our listeners were part of his “unlucky group” to get chewed up and spit out by this raggedy company right before the holidays. They have been emailing us since it happened. We will go into more details on that later. However, for now, I guess you could say we are starting to roast his chestnuts on an open fire! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Next week we will have our Tiger King 2 and Doc Antle review and then we will talk to you guys after the new year!

Hey Q Crew!

Drumroll please….WE HAVE A GRANDBABY! Baby AJ is here! But because we know y’all want us to get to the Elizabeth Holmes of it all I have put timestamps below of our different topics, although I’m not fancy enough to know how to make it so you click on the time and it takes you to that spot. So, if that doesn’t work, my bad. I didn’t go to Stanford. I put the convo on Baby AJ at the end (even though we had that first). We also chat about our newest trash obsession, Netflix show Selling Sunset, Sharon’s Pumpkin pie roast, Sophia’s new car, and of course…Elizabeth Holmes, who I now will call the Christine Quinn of Silicon Valley.

TRIGGER WARNING:

I CANNOT stress enough…when we are talking about Elizabeth Holmes’ allegations of abuse against Sunny Balwani, I want to make it 1000000% clear that we are talking about HER. If you are a survivor of any kind of abuse, we are NOT talking about you. We are survivors and we have talked about that openly over the years. I hope we do not hurt anyone with this discussion. If we do, please accept our heartfelt apologies.

Also, if you are currently still in a situation like that, there are resources. If you or someone you know is the victim of domestic abuse, please know that you are not alone. There is hope and there are organizations that can help. Visit https://www.thehotline.org/ for support and resources.

Love your faces!

Hey Q Crew!

Well we are back after our little Lularoe Vacay. Unfortunately, we have no grandbaby yet☹ But, the good news is that means we could get together and do some shit talking.

First we congratulate Brit on being FREE!!!

Then we respond to the meltdown of Dave Hollis and Hollisville.

Finally we get into the last few weeks of Elizabeth Holmes / Theranos trial and the last few episodes of Bad Blood The Final Chapter.

Hey Q Crew!

Right off the top we had some audio quality challenges this week. We had a new set up with the fabulous Miss Jessica James joining us for some shenanigans and tomfoolery! We were just going to do a deep dive only, but the stuff in the Elizabeth Holmes / Theranos trial started poppin’ off a little and we just could wait. So we catch up on what happened this last week with the invisible lab director, petty actions against journalists, and the existence of an “innovation fee” perplexes us!

Then Tanya slipped with some information on her personal life and Jess and I flipped out!

Next week will be a deep dive and then we will get back to the Lizzie Caper. We are on baby watch for Tanya’s grandbaby Amaru who should be here any day now! So we might be a little delayed coming back. Ill keep you guys updated on our Facebook page with what’s going on!

Love your faces!

Hey Q Crew!

This week we kick things off with the telling of the “Barnes and Noble Incident” story. Then we dive into week 5 of the Elizabeth Holmes trial (and go back a little bit to cover some things that we missed from earlier in the trial). We discuss the fraudulent Pfizer endorsement, more texts between Sunny and Elizabeth, the brutal cross examination of Rosendorff (the head of the lab below Sunny), and Buddhist juror #4 who got excused.
