Our special guest this week is England Roses legend Rachel Dunn, who we chat to about longevity. Rachel has had an incredible career to date including 7 Super League titles, 3 Netball World Cup bronze medals and 2 CWG bronze medals. With over 250 National league appearances (and counting!) and 92 caps for England, she is one of our most beloved athletes and has managed all this while working as a genetic technologist for the NHS.  We chat to Rachel about her career so far, including her influences, building resilience, motivations, success, challenges and so much more.

Today our interview is on the subject of The Female Athlete, and our guest is none other than the incredible Nat Butler, née Medhurst. In this conversation, we discuss periods, fertility, miscarriage, pregnancy, and post-pregnancy, and hear Nat's personal experience with fertility treatment and returning to elite sport after becoming a mother. We explore period stigma and consideration of athletes' menstrual cycle, egg freezing, contractual security for SSN players who become pregnant, appreciation for the female body, breastfeeding, motherhood and so much more. 


We feel this is such an important topic to discuss and hope to encourage more conversation with the netball family around these important issues. The link to the Netball Scoop fertility article we mention can be found here.


When we were researching this topic we found there is just so much to cover so there will be a Part 2 in a few weeks' time with another guest which will cover injuries, nutrition, breast health, and menopause.

We get to know Jemma a bit more and cover her netball journey, including how she got started, influential coaches, making the leap to the other side of the world at just 21 years of age, and much more.

In today's episode, we preview the Netball Super League 2023 opening weekend with none other than netball legend, Tamsin Greenway. Firstly we take a look at the league as a whole, covering everything from the purpose of the league, to measuring success, from changes in how the league is managed to sponsorship and broadcasting deals.
