In this episode, Jason, Josh, and Nate discuss the sermon preached on 5/31/26. They answer questions about judging those inside and outside the church, and discuss the biblical way to do it.
Jesus never says to ignore the speck in someone else's eye. Instead, He calls us to examine our own hearts first, extending the same mercy, forgiveness, and grace that we hope to receive from God. In Luke 6, we discover that healthy correction grows out of humility, close relationships, and a commitment to becoming more like Jesus rather than simply proving someone else wrong.
In this episode of the Becoming Better Podcast, Nate, Josh, and Jason discuss this week's sermon on living out Jesus' version of the "golden rule"
Most people agree with Jesus until they actually read the red letters closely. In Luke 6, Jesus calls His followers to respond to hatred with love, insults with mercy, and evil with generosity. This teaching feels impossible until we realize it perfectly describes the way Jesus has already treated us.
Everyone wants the blessings...no one wants the Woe's...
This Episode features Nate, Josh, and Corey as they discuss last Sunday's sermon based on the first part of Luke's account of the sermon on the plain.
Jesus’ definition of blessing looks radically different from ours. In Luke 6, He declares blessing over the poor, hungry, grieving, and rejected while warning those who place their hope in wealth, comfort, pleasure, and approval. This passage forces us to ask a hard question: are we finding our fulfillment in Christ, or in the temporary comforts of this world?
Becoming Better is our podcast show where we dive deeper into Sunday's sermon. If you haven't listened to it yet, you can listen to the latest sermon right here on this podcast, and it will help this conversion make more sense.

Jesus spent an entire night in prayer before calling twelve ordinary men to become the foundation of His church. From bold leaders like Peter to quiet servants like Andrew—and even Judas the betrayer—these apostles remind us that God uses imperfect people to accomplish eternal purposes. Luke 6 reveals both an incredible invitation and a sobering warning: being close to Jesus is not the same as truly following Him.
In this episode Josh, Jason, and Nate discuss this week's sermon about Jesus healing a man on the sabbath. The conversation covers a lot of topics from what was culturally acceptable to do on the sabbath, down to how the Levites were chosen to be priest for the Lord's service.
What looks like a debate about Sabbath laws becomes a defining moment about who Jesus really is—Lord over it all. When He calls a man to step forward in faith, what was hidden is brought into the light and completely restored. The question is the same for us: will we trust Him enough to step out, surrender, and let Him heal what’s broken?
