We all love the kind of change we control—but what happens when Jesus disrupts everything we’re comfortable with? In Luke 5, Jesus challenges the idea that faith is about fitting Him into our lives and instead shows that following Him requires total transformation. You can’t hold onto your old life and experience the new life Jesus offers.

Jesus didn’t just spend time with sinners—He had a purpose in it. In Luke 5, Jesus calls Levi, a despised tax collector, and then steps into a room full of outsiders to do what no one else would: call them to repentance. Following Jesus means moving toward people far from God, not to blend in, but to bring the hope that changes everything.

The resurrection of Jesus is the most extraordinary claim in history—but it begins with doubt, confusion, and questions from those who knew Him best. Their journey reveals that faith isn’t about having 100% certainty, but taking a step toward belief even when questions remain. The invitation is to move along the spectrum of belief and discover what it means to trust in the risen Jesus.

A man covered in leprosy—cut off from family, community, and worship—throws himself at the feet of Jesus with a desperate plea: “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Instead of recoiling, Jesus does the unthinkable—He reaches out and touches the untouchable. This powerful moment in Luke 5 reminds us that no one is too unclean for the grace of Christ, and the same mercy that restored the leper is the mercy that restores us.
