Our next guest is part of a social enterprise that removes plastic waste from the river mouths and beaches of the Western Cape. Izame Zabantu Nature Helpers has removed more than 6 500 bags of plastic waste so far. The local non-profit organization has collected everything from rubber tyres to fishing nets. The initiative is in partnership with Ikamva Labantu who is creating employment opportunities whilst protecting the environment. In the past 9 months, the organization has employed seven people on a fortnightly basis.
