Everyone's a suspect in the brutal murder at close quarters of Aurora Printemps, familiarly known to one and all as Grandma. The lead detective sometimes sports a tail, as does her most recent--or was he the most recent--paramour? Her granddaughter Red Rida loved her, hated her, wished her dead, but has an alibi no weaker than any of the others. Will this be sorted or will it join the 63% of cases that go into permanent cold case status?

When risqué photographs of college students are found in a professor’s desk, one professor, outraged by the lack of action, is determined to see justice served. She mobilizes the faculty, writes letters, and gives interviews to keep the story alive. But she fails to take two major details into account: all of the photographed students are overweight, and all are of Middle-Eastern descent. The public becomes less concerned with justice for one student and more concerned with body shaming and threats of global terrorism.

We'll leave the Ghostlight on For You. This week's reading is a classic, "Tartuffe" written by Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, AKA “Molière” It is about a pompous religious faker who tries to seduce the wife of a man who helped him. There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that Tartuffe will be making an appearance at the RNC this week.

ANIMAL CONTROL takes place in a small town Animal Control Bureau. Kim Hawkins has been promoted to Animal Control chief and finds the pressure of the job and the animal euthanasia duties particularly onerous. Day in and out she deals with issues like animal cruelty, abandonment, and negligence. The play opens with the Bureau's teenage receptionist Corrine Lowell (Journey Entzminger) slouching in her chair, playing with her cell phone, giving Chief Hawkins much attitude, which the chief is too flustered to combat.

Trigger warning:
The story is complex and unflinching. It is about the lies we tell ourselves to make unbearable situations bearable.
We talk about the power of theater to invoke empathy and connection but then ask playwrights to dumb it down or change the stories so people will "like it"
One of the benefits to our Quarantine Players process is that we can take the entire story as is to the audience as the playwright conceived it. No comprises, no infringement, no happy endings needed here.
Pamela Jafari is a DC-based playwright who marries modern-day content based storytelling with traditional theater's masked Greek chorus. The chorus, in this case, will represent the competing aspects of the emotional state of the abuser because the abuser is disconnected from her emotions.
There are three characters in this greek chorus Anger, Bitter and Lonely. If this were an on-stage production, we would have each character wearing a mask that would suggest the emotion. You can tell that the characters are speaking in the chorus because they have broken sentences and blurt words out.
Let's meet our characters
-Veronica Browne-Barnes / Paula
-Myrrh Cauthen /Doc Alexander/Jeri/ Lonely
- Kee Kee Funches/Valerie/ Anger
- Andrea Sanderson/ Gloria/ Bitter
- Beverly "Chocolate" White/ Mynite
