We chatted about how we get girls into STEMM and support those who find it hard to get involved. Also her recent Antartica trip and the beauty of walking from your front door. 

We chat about being honest about the resentment of roles in lockdown, missing simple pleasures like the beach and why we wait til something gets "so bad" for us and then we seek out help. 

Kate and I haven't spoken since 1993 when we did Duke of Edinburgh bronze certificate together. Previous to that we made friend's at 2 years old and then wee then went on and had our lives. We catch up for the first time in 27 years to chat about the halt on her move to Canada because of Covid 19 and awaiting news. 

Leanne Melody got hit hard by Covid and the lockdown. She went to bed for a month and then pulled herself out of the covers and said "what can I do now?". Learning to pivot in the best way she knew how; making people laugh and allowing others to shamelessly pursue their dreams. 

Mele is passionate about Pacifica communities and education and we discussed the current situation in the Pacific, how our young people can teach us so much and what we can do to lift up the voices of those communities. 

Sarah and I chatted about the current situation here in New Zealand and her business. How it was so important for her to make sure everyone was ok before they opened up again and if you don't build a community you can't survive. 

Melissa went to uni at 15 and lied about her age so that people didn't know, she said she needed to be guided and looked after and that didn't always happen. We chat about her babies being far away, what New Zealand needs to do right now to change and spending time on ourselves. 

Minya is currently documenting the words and photographs of the people who live near her during this time. Recording the narrative of people's experience of Covid 19 and lockdown. 

Kristy talks about the importance of rural womens stories, the juggle of mum life and the roles we get given in times of crisis. Whether we want them or not.
