Hey, Hi, Hello Friend. So today, my guest is Lucas Wilson. Lucas is a SSHRC (pronounced SHIRK) Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Toronto Mississauga. He is the editor of Shame-Sex Attraction: Survivors’ Stories of Conversion Therapy and the author of At Home with the Holocaust: Postmemory, Domestic Space, and Second-Generation Holocaust Literature. His public-facing writing has appeared in The Advocate, Queerty, LGBTQ Nation, and Religion Dispatches, among other venues. He is currently working on two interrelated monograph projects that examine evangelical homophobia and transphobia in the U.S.
We started the conversation talking about his work with his book, Shame-Sex Attraction. And then we dove into Christianity, belonging vs fitting in, why we each left the church, and so much more. This conversation was so easy in how it flowed even though we were diving deep into tough topics. I hope you enjoy listening to this conversation as much as I had having it.
