Queertronica Podcast

After a long time, I decided to continue to post my sets again. This one is a very special one, because it is partly the set I played at the TRANSTRONICA festival 2023, although without the sickening vocals of Hausvrau. It is a trip through the 90s, a wild ride through House, Breakbeat and 90s Rave.

"A la recherche du T perdu" was the theme of last Salon Queertronique, a party series dedicated to trans visibility as well as to queer club culture in general. The second part of my House Odyssey is a trip down memory lane, where I found myself inside the 90s, the golden era of House music. The 90s not only had an immediately recognisable beat structure, they were highlighting black and brown voices which took the queer audience to church. After the decriminalisation of homosexuality, queerdom found its place inside club music, a soundtrack sung by trans women and effeminate gay men.

With no further ado, please enjoy my first vocal house set!

So I decided to rework the second part of my set and to offer you a trilogy of House with three of my performances in 2022. Initially, this was the set, I played for the Queer Bcademy @PARKS Hamburg. In this first part, the focus is on early House music, mainly from the late 80s. This era has a very special feel to it, it is the time, electronic dance music evolved to this certain club sound between Wave, Pop, House, Acid and what will later be known as Techno. Enjoy!

This is my set from the Vogelball 2022! It was my very first time playing there and my very first time, the crowd was going absolutely crazy from the first second of it! Be prepared to enjoy a set through fierce voguing beats, house excellence, electronic abstraction and oriental rhythms all woven into a melodic tale.

The TRANSTRONICA Festival was the first ever electronic music festival with an all trans* lineup. As the curator and founder, I set myself on the last evening, called "Celeste". It is about time to summarise my set filled with what I would call is 100% Saeleen Bouvar: sickening beats, oriental influences, Acid sounds and melodies to die for.

It is a non stop dance mix, so please have fun with it.

Let´s celebrate the end of 2021 with a Hi NRG mix I played back @PARKS for the Feminist Futures Salon. It is an hommage to the old gay club sound which was shaped by the queer icons Sylvester James and Patrick Cowley. Hi NRG will always be connected with the tragedy of the Aids pandemic, which took so many queer lives too soon.

This mix highlights some of the most important tracks of that time and coats them with a swirl of Electroclash, which itself is a revival of the old gay disco club sound.

After such a long time, I was asked to play a techno set for the Queerpool party. Finally, the time had arrived for me to dig out iconic tracks from artists such as Mira Calix, Jasmine Infiniti, SOPHIE and Portishead to deliver a mix filled with female passion for electronic music. For the three days event "There is no satisfaction" @PARKS, Hamburg, I was asked to play a 1 hour set. Unfortunately, I was interrupted by the police who asked us to stop the music now. The audience loved the set so much, that I promised to mix it at home with all of its glory.

So, here you have the whole set as it was planned plus another 20 minutes extra material.

A mixture of Chicago House, Acid House and some Techno which blends in perfectly to create another hommage to Black and Queer and Trans Excellence.

Here you have my performance at the alternative pride event in Hamburg if there hadn´t be any interruptions. It is a wild ride on House and Techno tracks spiced up with Acid Gems and Oriental Belly Dance Beats. Oozing Queerness in all of its glory, wishing you a safe and happy pride!

For my birthday month, where I will accomplish my 44th year on earth, I was asked to take over the POSSYCAST#44. Now, isn´t that a wonderful occasion to spread some pure love and desire in those hot steamy nights?
