  • Episode 3: Dames, Damsels, Digging Up Fossils & Big Foot

If chick lit is a thing, then dude lit definitely is as well. Whether it's modern or historic, novels that are male-centric and feature non-stop action and adventure, violence, and the all-round tough guy are standard dude lit fare. Today Nick is going to introduce us to three books that easily qualify as dude lit, and we're going to visit the Old West twice, and the 1920s noir. There will be guns, horses, and dead bodies.

The Man In the Forest by Zane Grey

The Lady in the Lake by Raymond Chandler

    Dragon Teeth by Michael Crichton

    Nikki's Pick:

    Devolution by Max Brooks

  • Episode 2: A Dog Cop, Superhero Legacy, Wolves, and Ordinary People

Yolanda joins me to discuss and recommend three children's graphic novels that are not only great for newer/reluctant readers, but for teens and adults as well. Yolanda didn't see that there was a theme among her titles, so is it a coincidence that she chose all stories about unusual heroes and their struggles, doing the right thing and staying true to themselves?

    Dog Man by Dav Pilkey

The Green Lantern Legacy by Minh Le

The Bad Guys by Aaron Blabey

    Nikki's Pick:

    Anxious People by Fredrik Backman
