Finding Rest During Divorce
Divorce can be an overwhelming storm, stirring up waves of grief, guilt, anger, and uncertainty. In the midst of this, rest might feel impossible, but God offers you His peace even in the hardest seasons.
Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." These words remind us that rest is not the absence of struggle but the presence of Jesus in our struggles.
During this painful time, lean into God through prayer, Scripture, and worship. Pour out your heart to Him, trusting that He hears you and cares deeply for your pain. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."
Rest may look like letting go of the need to control every outcome and trusting God with your future. It may mean taking practical steps like seeking counseling, finding a supportive community, or simply allowing yourself time to grieve.
Remember, God specializes in redemption and restoration. Though this chapter is painful, He can bring beauty from ashes. Rest in His promises, His love, and His unchanging faithfulness.
Take heart—you are not walking this road alone. God's peace, which surpasses all understanding, is available to you today and every day.
