Questions from today's episode: God’s great love only begins to make sense when we realize how utterly helpless we would be if becoming friends with God depended on our own goodness. Have you taken time recently to consider your own helplessness (because of your sin)? Have you expressed your gratitude to Him for loving you even when you were His enemy? Would you like to do that now?

Have you ever known, or been, someone who refuses to go see the doctor, even when it's clear that you need one? I am totally guilty of this! Listen in today to hear my story, and how it relates on a spiritual level to Jesus' words in our verse today, "Healthy people don't need a doctor-sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners."

Questions from today's episode: Have you ever acknowledged to God that you are a sinner, in need of saving? Have you ever thanked Him for sending Jesus to provide this salvation for you? If not, would you take a minute to do that now? Or perhaps you have done that, but recently you've been living as though you've got things under control, and you've forgotten to acknowledge that even now, as far as you've come, you still desperately need His grace. Ask Him now to reveal the sins in your life that He wants to deal with today.

Sometimes our first assumption, when unwelcome circumstances present themselves in our lives, is that we're being punished for something. We may whine, complain, and ask God or ourselves, "What am I being punished for?" as if God is some unpredictable and unfair parent who relishes the opportunity to inflict pain on His children. This isn't the image of God we're presented with in the Bible. In fact, we are often presented with a very different image of Him, one of incredible patience, mercy and compassion. Maybe it's time to scrutinize this assumption a little bit, making sure our thoughts about God line up with the way He presents Himself to us. Listen in!

Questions from today's episode: Are there circumstances in your life right now that you've been assuming are punishment from God? Bring these circumstances and assumptions before Him. Then, with an open heart, listen for what His Spirit might be speaking to you in the midst of your circumstances. Perhaps it is discipline. Perhaps it isn't. Either way, respond to His invitation to find comfort and healing in His presence!

This verse was given to me at a time in my life when I was so ready to receive it's message: return and rest. Although my life circumstances are not nearly as dramatic today as they were on that day, I still find myself in need of this message! Maybe you do too. Also, special announcement in this episode, so make sure you listen in!

The questions from this episode: Is there an area of your life that you are trying to "manage" right now? Is there a sin that needs to be acknowledged and brought into the light of Jesus' tender compassion and healing? What is His invitation to you today? What is your response?
This song was especially meaningful to me during the time I describe in today's episode. Maybe it will be an encouragement to you today, too!

While we've heard it before and we know it's a good idea, to "be still and know that He is God" is easier said than done! What does it look like? What about when we're trying to practice it but we keep getting distracted? Today's episode is a great mix of the spiritual and the practical. Listen in!

Questions from today's episode: As you spend time contemplating God's perfect power over all things and enjoying His presence with you, pay attention. Are there any intrusive thoughts? Is it something to be jotted down? If so, take a quick minute to do so, then return to the stillness. Is it something you feel ashamed of? Capture it and then be curious. Hold it in God's presence and be ready to listen to what He might be saying to you right now. You may be surprised!
