  • Ep 157: Be Intentional(ish) When Choosing Your Podcast Title & Topic

🤩 I just love chatting with new and soon-to-be podcasters! One of the most exciting things you’ll hear them say after “I’m going to start a podcast!” is usually “I already have the title picked out!” Now don’t worry, tons of people skip straight to naming their podcast with no clue what it could really mean for the podcast beyond that, which is why in this episode we are going to dive into all things podcast titles and topics! If you are in the early stages of creating your podcast, use this episode as your expert guide and take notes! 🎙️

    💫Key Highlights:
    • The top questions you should be asking yourself before naming your podcast.
    • Don’t stress and over complicate coming up with the “perfect” title.
    • Check trademarks, invest and take the time to go through the legal process with a trademark attorney.
    • Should you decide on a title with your business or personal brand in mind?
    • Choosing your podcast topic with both a broad appeal and micro niche for your audience.

At the end of the day, you are not going to create a podcast with a title and topic that everyone in the world is going to listen to. Do what feels right for you! Don’t be afraid to micro niche, because when you become the expert on what you're talking about, the right people will find you! 💕

Are you starting a podcast? I would love to hear from you and all your blooming ideas!

  • Ep 156: Binge The Books Currently On My Nightstand

📚 I can’t be the only one who believes there’s something magical about walking into a Barnes and Noble, with the faint smell of books and coffee in the air! Or maybe the colder seasons make you want to curl up with a good book and a glass of wine 24/7 too? Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always enjoyed immersing myself into someone else’s words, thoughts, their story process and learning something fascinating from them. I think that’s why I love podcasting so much! So on today’s episode, I wanted to give you a little look into what’s on my nightstand currently. I recommend some great reads for business and personal growth, as well as a fun fictional novel in there too! ☕️

    📌 Books Mentioned:
    Be Seen by Jen Gottlieb
Big Idea to Bestseller by Jake Kelfer
Guy Raz by How I Built This
How Are You Really? By Jenna Kutcher
The Ballad Of Snakes And Songbirds By Suzanne Collins

🎁 With the holidays coming up, if you are searching for that perfect gift for someone, even someone you might not know very well, grab one of these books and bring them that added layer of quality and value to their festive season! I’ve put all the books on my Amazon list here, however maybe you’re in need of a much deserved Barnes and Noble date to buy it in person! If you buy one of these books, or have already read one, leave me a review here on the B-Word and tell me which one you liked best!

  • Ep 154: Behind the Scenes of Creating a Freebie for Your Podcast

I’m so excited to dive into this episode! Last week I hopped on my Instagram stories to ask what you all wanted to see more of on this podcast, and my biggest request was all about when, how and why to create a freebie for your podcast episodes. The second was how to build your email list. These 2 things actually go hand in hand! That’s why I’m including my own freebie The Ultimate Episode Checklist for Solo and Guest Episodes that is a must-have for podcasters and will help you determine everything you need!

    🌟Key Highlights:

    • Four questions I ask myself when seeing if the content for an episode could use a freebie.
    • Does the episode need a companion piece to help listeners implement what you're teaching?
    • Can you elevate and really add value to the episode with a freebie?
    • Does the episode need a visual?
    • The bonus of utilizing and offering your freebie in more than one place.
    • Understanding when to not force a freebie.

So don't miss out on this episode's freebie The Ultimate Episode Checklist and grab that download here!  At the end of the day, you want to take those extra steps in your podcast process so that when you have an opportunity to create a freebie, it helps grow your email list and forms a better connection with your listeners! If you create your own freebie after this, tag me on Instagram @itsjoannebolt because I would love to see what you come up with!
