Will all the talks of banning books this week in our news feed, Rach & Dean have decided that the morning are the best time to share some positive story time on the JOY airwaves, sharing books that elevate, celebrate and shine a light on same sex families in all their pride and glory.

They kicked off QUILTBAG Storytime with ‘And Tango makes Three’ by Peter Parnell & Justin Richardson, which is illustrated by Henry Cole.

Published in 2005, the book tells the story of two male penguins, Roy and Silo, who create a family together. With the help of the zookeeper, they are given an egg which they help hatch. The female chick, that completes their family, is named Tango.

This children book is based off of a true story.
