The people around us influence who we become, but the Qur’an teaches us that the best relationships are those built upon taqwa and love of Allah. In this episode, we explore the friendships that survive the Hereafter, Allah’s promise of a Jannah where no one feels deprived or left out, the devastating contrast of those who lose all hope, and what happens when we resist a truth we know is right.

We end with a deeply personal reminder: Allah hears the conversations no one else hears and knows the choices no one else sees. So who is influencing you? How do you respond when the truth challenges you? And who are you when no one is watching?

In today’s episode, we continue Surah Az-Zukhruf and see how Allah sent Pharaoh and his people warning after warning so that they might return. But when the hardship disappeared, they broke their promises, and Pharaoh redirected his people’s attention to his power, status, and kingdom rather than the truth Musa brought.

We then turn to ʿIsa عليه السلام and his simple message: Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is the straight path. These verses challenge us to pay attention to the voices and messages shaping how we see the world, to recognize Allah’s reminders when they come, and to keep measuring what we hear against the guidance He revealed.

In today’s episode, we explore how the Qur’an challenges the way we measure success and human worth. Quraysh looked at wealth, status, and influence and assumed that these were signs of greatness. Allah reminds us that He is the One who distributes our provision, and that having more dunya does not necessarily mean someone is more beloved to Him, just as having less does not mean Allah has forgotten you.

We also explore the danger of allowing the world around us to shape how we see reality. When revelation stops guiding our understanding of success, money, relationships, morality, and purpose, something else takes its place.

In today’s episode, we reflect on how everyday blessings can reconnect us to Allah. Even something as ordinary as getting into our car becomes a reminder of His favor, our dependence upon Him, and the greater journey we are all taking back to Him.

We also explore the Qur’an’s warning against blindly following family, culture, or the crowd simply because “everyone does it.” Through the example of Ibrāhīm عليه السلام, we return to the foundation of tawḥīd: the One who created us is the One who deserves our worship.

These verses teach us how to control anger, establish boundaries, and respond to harm with wisdom, strength, and within the limits Allah has set.

In today’s episode, we reflect on the closing verses of Surah Fussilat and the opening of Surah Ash-Shura. Allah exposes a human tendency many of us recognize in ourselves: we turn intensely to Him during hardship, but when ease returns, we can slowly become distracted again. These verses teach us to notice the signs of Allah all around us, in creation, within ourselves, and even throughout history.

We also explore how truly knowing Allah should change the way we live. If we know He sees us, it should affect our private actions. If we know He is All-Wise, it should deepen our trust in His guidance and decree. If we know He is All-Forgiving and Most Merciful, we should keep returning to Him. And if we know He is capable of all things, we should never stop calling upon Him, even when every worldly door seems closed.
