We spoke with Trent Smith from the Otago University Department of Economics about supermarkets in New Zealand. We explored how a market duopoly works, the effects of them, as well as the schemes Foodstuffs and Countdown have recently announced regarding their food prices.

Mother Tongue, a DPAG exhibit which opened in April, delves into the pacific slave trade known as blackbirding and showcases the artists personal relationship with it. The exhibit uses the shipwreck of the Don Juan, a ship rumoured to have connections to the slave trade. Zac Hoffman spoke to local historian Charles Clark to determine the real history of the Don Juan. Alongside Clark, Zac talks to Pacific history experts associate professor Jacqueline Leckie and Dr Frances Steel about the history of blackbirding and it's repercussions today
