  • Watch out for financial gurus selling you systems to get rich
The number of people that are selling your garbage online is extremely high. Watch out for people that are selling you some get rich quick scheme. Your goal is to do the slow grind with things that are tried and true. Nothing is going to get you there quick.
The secret is to do the slow grind and put in the work every day. Increase the revenue that’s coming into your house by doing more work, and decrease the clients that your house is spending by shopping at Walmart.

  • Social convention is often what keeps you from doing good things in your life.
social convention often keeps you from doing good things in your life. We often think that we can’t do something because it is what the norms are in our contacts. Who says that we can’t live very austerely such as living in a tent? Why is it socially acceptable to not live in a car? There’s many different things in our life that we do simply because it’s convention.
Once we start realizing that it’s all just convention beyond the small amount that we need, we give ourselves room to do really interesting and thought-provoking ideas that change the world.

  • Understand The Data Generating Process Behind The Outcomes You Observe
I caution against the direct one to one use between data that you see and what is really going on behind the scenes with performance metrics. The key is that data generating processes are not always obvious and require a lot of thought.
When you see high performance or low performance think about what is going on behind the scenes. Use some judgment to understand the situation.

  • You have to have faith that you’re doing the right thing
The most important thing to remember is that you can’t judge yourself based on how other people perceive you. You have to have faith that you’re doing the right thing. As long as what you were doing is a noble and just mission, all of it will work out in the end.
And if it doesn’t, at least you know that you did the right thing given where you were at the time.

  • How To manage an organizational crisis at the University
I talk about how individuals might be able to manage an organizational crisis at a university. I talk about the importance of owning a crisis and admitting that you do have a crisis at hand, and then excepting it. Once you admit that you have an organizational crisis in your dress and what is going on you’ll have far better and positive outcomes in the long run.

  • Reduce the number of things that cause Chaos in your life.
never think that you will be able to gain anything in the short term. You will gain a lot in decades if you just do the simple tried and true. How most people grow is by doing the same boring thing every year. In the short term it never feels like anything is happening.
In the long term, it’s almost miraculous. Think about the top performing companies on the stock market. They grow at 10% per year. This means if you made one dollar this year next year you will be making $11. Over the course of two years it feels like you haven’t done anything.
Over the course of 30 years the outcomes are miraculous.

  • The Ideal Boots And Lunchpail Employee
be the kind of person that is willing to put in the work, be ingenious, and live a happy and healthy life.
When you play the long game, you realize that the key is to just do a good job and go home.
The rest of it takes care of itself in the long run.

  • Just don’t give up on yourself
you’re gonna want to give up. Every day you want to give up. In the moment you might compare yourself to others and feel that you’re somehow behind. You might even compare yourself against who you were yesterday, and you feel like you’re not much further ahead.
But that’s what you should not be thinking about. You’re not gonna be that much further than yesterday and other people do not affect you.
What you should be thinking about is whether you’re a little bit ahead from last year and the year before.
Once you realize the slow grind works, you can start appreciating your efforts. Consistency is the only thing that matters. Getting up and doing the same thing every day went well can you do when the Olympics, become an extraordinary business person, or change your own life.
