  • What Can You Actually Do About It?
What can you actually do about it?
Most people will not care about the thing that you’re thinking about, a small fraction will be so upset that all they do is sit and argue about it endlessly.
You will be the one that will actually do something about it.
    What can you actually do?
    Here is what I think:
What is the problem that you’re facing? And how can you tackle it, such that people don’t even realize that you’re actually tackling it.
For those that can see through what you’re doing, you can give us “wink and nod.” They understand that you’re tackling a larger problem.
But, everybody else will be too self-interested or arguing over a irrelevant things to even notice.
By the time, they think about it, they will say “remember when we used to…”

  • When You Know Your Work Will NOT Be Rewarded
There are many moments where your work will not get rewarded. This is a fact of life.
Your job is not to focus on the outcomes, but the focus on your actions.
This logic of focusing on outcomes inevitably will lead you astray.
What you can do is work on you being a kind and generous person regardless of the outcomes that happen.

  • Sometimes You Have To Work Within The Constraints You Are Given
Often you have to work within the constraints that you are given. You might not agree with these constraints, but it’s a part of making hard decisions.
One has to comply with these constraints.
It means that you’re making difficult adult choices and that even though that it may be inferior at the moment, in the long run, you can make better choices as the environment changes.

  • Don’t Miss Out On The Digital Economy
Are you missing out on digital changes in the economy?
We tend to default to what we know when there are macro changes that are going on.
The digital economy is revolutionizing and democratizing much of our life, and instead of participating in it, many of us are deciding to tune it out because it is foreign or challenging the process.
Many of us will default to consumers of the digital information, rather than realizing that we can be active participants in it.
This is a kin to the introduction of public libraries in developed countries. We have, unbelievable access to books in every public library that is free and available to all.
These books are so knowledgeable that wars are often fought over ideas.
Except, we choose not to take advantage of this incredible opportunity.
Knowledge does bring opportunities, and the #digitaleconomy is going to become increasingly more important.
But, we choose to not participate.
    Why is that the case?
It’s often a lot of personal reasons where we feel like it is not their job, it is foreign, or “what would other people think?”
It takes a lot of personal development to be “public.”
    Telling your story is scary.
Where do you stand? Do you see these opportunities?

  • Analyzing Data Is Just Damn Hard
Analyzing all data is difficult, and until you get the experience of looking at data and trying to make sense of it, you will always under appreciate how challenging it is.
I encourage you to look at real world data and see if you can make sense of it. You’ll often come to the terms that you just don’t know what you’re looking at.
It is completely normal to feel frustrated and anxious when you look at data.

  • When You Explore Life Expect Inconsistencies In Your Identity
I grew up with the smell of tanning beaver pelts in our basement, eating moosemeat, and snaring rabbits.
Then, I became a business professor.
When you explore life, expect a lot of inconsistencies with your identity.
This is something that few people discuss, but by default, you often have identities that you will never be able to reconcile when you explore the world in different ways.
You may not want to reconcile any of these identities, but they play very real role in terms of how you understand yourself.
For me, I’m part country-bumpkin with a blue-collar family, and sophisticated business professor.
Both are true, and neither of them are correct.
This tension that you will feel will always be part of your life, and you’ll never really be able to explain who you are.
You will never be able to re-create these past histories, and even most of my family in the north don’t do these activities anymore.
Just be sure that you’re well aware that each moment in your life may be the last one.
Live and appreciate how wonderful your life is.

  • Living Below What You Make Always Hurts
Living below what you make is always a challenging thing for all of us.
We have challenges of social comparison, the pain of giving up joy today, and the inability to see the future.
    All of us experience this.
If you are struggling with this, you’re absolutely normal.
However, in order for you to do well, you have to be willing to give up some of your joy today.
What you’re giving up (around 10 to 20% of everything you make) will provide unbelievable dividends in 30 years.
I would love for everybody to get into this habit, but I recognize that the behavior of doing it is far different than the mathematics of it.
In order for you to get practice, work on small things where you are in congruent with the world around you.
This will give you practice to being able to withstand the pressure of living at your “maximum capacity” today.

  • Most Things Are Slow and You Cannot Change That
Most things are really slow and you can’t change that. Many things in life are simply a slow step-by-step process that you can’t hurry up.
There’s no system or processed, just slow work overtime.
If you come into life, realizing there’s a certain slowness to it you often make a lot better choices.
You can’t rush anything, and you will know that you eventually get there.

  • How Many People Can I Get To Feel Happy Or Good Inside?
how many people can you get to feel happy inside? What might that look like if you work with the premise that you are going to try to make other people, feel happy, and your self feel happy with his much of your energy as possible.
Why don’t we create an experiment in your life where you go about doing that. Can you affect many people as possible in as deep of way as possible?
What are simple tools that are free in an expensive that you can use to have a positive and changing impact and people around you?
Why don’t you change that and see if you can implement these simple things.
I wonder what would happen in your life.
