Rabotat Radio

For our fifth episode, and in honor of Nikki Manos' new single "Trouble On My Mind", we’re talking Westerns! Nikki's compiled a list of incredible - and incredibly bad - Westerns from around the globe, and Madame De Fer - through a series of challenges more fiendish than the last - will select the one we’ll watch and talk about. So saddle up, and let’s dive in!

For our fourth episode of the pod, we take a look back to May 2021 and our weeklong trip high up in Cloudcroft, New Mexico for a Nikki Manos recording session. Ironfist and I were lucky enough that week to be joined by the untouchable Dave Austin, member of Just Whiskey and future member of Melatonin Lotion. In our longest show yet, we sat with Dave to talk about his lifelong passion for music, the realities of touring, and even sharing a little love for the Grateful Dead. We also introduce our new podcast game, Watched or Wasted. So get your shot glasses ready and let’s dive in!

Our third episode is a little something special, paying homage to one of our favorite writers and horror aficionados, Stephen King. This legendary man has permeated the core of our collective minds for decades with his books, films, and even his incredibly witty commentary on Twitter. He is iconic to the Rabotat Fam and in celebration of our admiration, we wanted to pay tribute to him in our newest episode. Join Madame De Fer and Ironfist on a mini-trip to Maine to see some King sights - we might even throw in a book recommendation or two in the mix.

In our second episode is dedicated to the Fangoria 2021 Chainsaw Awards! My partner, Ironfist, and I watched the roundup of this year's nominees and cast our votes. Today, we discuss our favorite picks from each category, with a few special Rabotat categories thrown in the mix to keep it spicy. What did we love about horror in 2020? Catch our newest episode to find out - and catch the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards on Shudder this year on April 18.

In our first episode of the podcast, Rabotat Record's own Jay Chavez sits down with the newest inductee to Rabotat, Drunken Logic, to discuss the release of his upcoming EP, "Lost In February". They are joined by Ironfist, Rabotat Records co-founder, who produced the EP with Drunken Logic throughout the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. The conversation touches on inspiration and lyrical writing, producing in a socially distanced world, and what makes the best recipe for a good song.
