Jonathan discusses his reasons for kneeling, the support of his teammates, and what it's like to be spending his high school years in Wilmette after being raised on Chicago's West Side.

In our special Halloween episode we talk Jordan Peele's horror film GET OUT, whether Tania trusts White people, whether Paul used the word "colored" and the phrase "I know where the f-ing keys are" becomes a metaphor for people who don't seem racist but secretly are.

We talk about Tania's experience at the National Summit for Courageous Conversations in Detroit, the power of Whiteness, how racism is built on colorism, Trump's dismissal of Sgt. LaDavid T. Johnson who was recently killed in Niger and how George W. Bush just woke up from the Dream.

Tania and Paul are at Chicago Theater Works for The Chicago Podcast Festival delivering truth, asking big questions and hosting a Race Bait theme song sing along! We unpack "the dream",  talk about that Dove ad, surprise eachother with stories from our week, answer "I've Always Wanted to Ask" from Paul and the audience and even invite an audience member on stage to answer, "Why can't we touch Black people's hair?" It was a great night; the first of more to come.

We've pulled a "Beyonce" and we're droppin' a SURPRISE episode! This is EPISODE 1 of Race Bait SEASON 2. (We know, we know Tania's explanation at the end of our last episode was confusing) No hiatus here folks! We're jumpin' right in with talk about Colin Kapernick. (You didn't think we'd let that one go by did ya?) Tania does a little swearing, Paul does a little preaching (in a good way), we determine whether to hope or not to hope and have a new name for that guy in the White House.

*in the beginning of the episode you'll notice Paul sounds a bit like he's "calling in" or "in a tunnel". He was in my kitchen. Just a matter of the gage being a little high when recording. We talk Ta-Nehisi Coates' book Between the World and Me in Race Bait's first Book Club discussion. If you read it Great! If you didn't Great! We won't judge. You are welcome at this book club either way. We talk about Coates' themes of"The Mecca", "Black Bodies"  "The Dream" and "The Dreamers". Tania has a confession and a revelation that isn't so much a revelation as a fact. Paul has a slip up that makes Tania guffaw and a confession too and neither of them can recommend this book enough.

It's a timeless tale of racial discrimination-- with a twist!! Tania and Paul break down a recent lawsuit filed by an actor at the legendary Chicago venue... and while reminiscing catch a dose of the Second City Blues (only actors are susceptible, but the city is lousy with it). Do they have inside knowledge of the situation? No! Are they legal experts? Hell, no!! Do they know the facts of the case?! It's like you're not even listening. They have OPINIONS, people!
