This is a breakaway message, meaning that I should be teaching on the book of Mark in the series Mark by Mark. However, I am in a Master's Program, and sometimes, my study time for the book of Mark or any other series I might be reading is non-existent.
I recently studied the book of Jeremiah. It was an overview. I was really impressed by Jeremiah's fortitude. No matter what kind of trial he was going through in his life, he remained obedient to God. He is an impressive prophet.
This podcast starts w/ a quick overvies of what Son of David means and then a warnin about scribes and false teachers today.
The main focus is on the widow's mite. One penny she gave. She gave more than all the avg. people and rich people. She gave everything. If is your finances a ball and chain to you? Are you trusting God with your money? How much of your money is yours and how much is God's. Are you an obedient or disobedient giver.
And this is two days before Jesus' death. If you had two days to live what would you be focussing on??
How is your vertical relationship w/ God? Is it solid? Does it exist at all?
How is your horizontal relationship w/ people? How are you to act towards people?
Who is the one true God? Do you know?
Take a listen and hear what God has to say about all these questions. :)
Have you ever asked ridiculous questions about things that don't matter. Or asking crazy questions at the wrong time. Well once again the religious leaders come to Jesus with a really ridiculous question to try to stump Him. Here is what happens.
What do we owe our government, and what do we owe God? Maybe answers lie here in this podcast.
Our first parable to be told in Mark. This story shows the patience once again of God and then what happens at the end of his patience. We are left with some good options for living with people you do good to, and then they return your good with evil.
God is extremely patient. He is more patient than anyone on this earth. But his patience will not last forever. It would not be wise to see how long his patience lasts.
Breakaway, meaning, stepping away from the MarkxMark series for a weekend.
The "Messiah Trap". What is that? It is basically doing things for Jesus without Jesus. The podcast will explain.
We all have struggled with this: thinking that God does not hear our prayers or doesn't care. Neither is true. God does care more than we can possibly comprehend. And He hears every word. So why does it seem that way to us so many times? Well, all the answers are in this podcast! Haha! Well, some answers. I hope it helps. :)
Are you bearing fruit in your life? Are you growing and maturing? Don't mock God by saying you are a part of His family and then living a total different lifestyle. And...if you are not a part of God's family don't mock God. There is never a good time to make fun of God. I challenge you to know HIM and put your faith in HIM. If you are already in His family and are off course a bit, jump back on the rails and be "fruity" for Him. Ha! Just listen it will all make sense 😊
