The U.S. war on Iran isn’t just about targeting the Islamic Republic… it’s also a desperate attempt to cut off the energy supply to China, ahead of Washington’s fantasy of a “war on China” in the years to come.

But nothing that was written in the policy papers is going as planned for the U.S. Establishment, as China has spent the last several years building up its strategic oil reserves, improving its renewable energy technology, etc. As a result, Beijing isn’t just exporting refined rare earth minerals, it’s also exporting the overwhelming majority of the world’s clean technology.

KJ Noh, an independent journalist specializing in the geopolitics of the Asia-Pacific region, noted that just like Iran, China has spent years preparing for the possibility of war with the U.S., and it is ready to weather any storm Washington may try to throw its way.

President Trump declared on Thursday that “we have very good relations with Iran,” after more than a month of war, as speculation mounts over whether there is a chance for another round of talks in Islamabad, now that the U.S. and Israel have agreed to a ceasefire in Lebanon.

Scott Ritter, a former UN Weapons Inspector and US Marine Corps Intelligence Officer, noted that even if a deal is made to end the war, U.S. influence on the global stage has been harmed significantly by its war of choice against Iran, and as a result: “We lost Europe, we lost the Pacific, and we also lost the notion of the invincibility of the American military.”

President Trump announced that Israel and the US-backed Lebanese government have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire, which is set to go into effect at midnight in Beirut tonight. This, after immense pressure from Iran to include Lebanon in the overall ceasefire, and after the IDF failed to accomplish any of Israel’s goals with its war on south Lebanon.

Journalist and Lawyer Dimitri Lascaris noted that we have seen no evidence that the U.S. is finished with its overall war on Iran, and it’s likely the ceasefire in Lebanon will be used to buy more time, as the U.S. and Israel prepare for their next attack.

China is decrying the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports, calling it “dangerous and irresponsible.” But while President Trump has made his threats to the Strait of Hormuz clear, traffic is still continuing in many ways, as Iran and China refuse to back down.

Col. Larry Wilkerson, former Chief of Staff to the U.S. Secretary of State, said he dares Trump to directly challenge Xi Jinping, because “Xi will show Trump the flat-side of his hand” in a confrontation. He also noted that Iran’s next tier of attacks — reportedly using Chinese satellite technology — threaten to put “the globe in a recession by June, and in a depression by August,” with the targeting of key resources and facilities across the Persian Gulf region.

Reports say Israel’s security cabinet is meeting to discuss a ceasefire for Lebanon that would go into effect at midnight local time, on Wednesday night, and would last for the second week of the US-Iran ceasefire.

This, as Trump’s plans for a naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz have failed miserably, as Iran and China have made it clear that they will not be bossed around by the U.S. president.

Laith Marouf, journalist and executive director of Free Palestine TV based in Beirut, noted that Hezbollah’s latest ambush attacks on IDF troops in Bint Jbeil are a reminder that even with a week of Iran adhering to a ceasefire, Israel has been unable to accomplish any of its goals in south Lebanon.

The Trump Admin is pretending it’s making progress towards “peace” in Lebanon, as Secretary of State Marco Rubio hosted a hand-picked envoy from the US-backed Lebanese government and an Israeli envoy, for talks in Washington on Tuesday. But Israel just doubled down on its refusal for a ceasefire, and put more pressure on Beirut to “disarm” Hezbollah.

Veteran Lebanese Journalist Dr. Marwa Osman described the impact of Israel’s latest massacres across Lebanon, noting that every family has lost a friend or a loved one, as the death toll continues to climb.

She also noted that the Trump Admin’s pressure on their puppets in Beirut is going to backfire, as Israel’s latest war crimes push the Lebanese people to increase support for Hezbollah, and as Resistance fighters refuse to let Israel occupy an inch of ground in the South.

The U.S.-sanctioned Chinese tanker “Rich Starry,” transporting 250,000 barrels of methanol from the UAE, became the first ship to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, despite the threatened U.S. blockade. A test of whether the U.S. Navy can and will attempt to impede traffic, and target other nations directly, as part of its war on Iran.

Iranian Prof. Seyed Mostafa Khoshcheshm noted that the U.S. showed the world it’s not serious about peace talks with its performance in Pakistan over the weekend, and it’s still showing that it can’t accomplish a single arbitrary goal in this war, as Trump’s aims seem to change on a daily basis.

Iran is warning that it will have "no hesitation in delivering a decisive" response to any aggressor, in the Strait of Hormuz or elsewhere, as President Trump orders the U.S. Navy to impose a naval blockade on the strategic waterway.

Defense Ministry spokesperson Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik said Trump will "fail in any attempt to interfere militarily in the Strait of Hormuz and Sea of Oman, and would bring further defeat to the U.S. and the world."

Iran-based Geopolitical Analyst Ehsan Safarnejad noted that while the U.S. is treating the war in Iran as a game of Poker, you can only "bluff" so many times. That's why Iran is treating this war as a game of Chess, in which it is strategically targeting the U.S. and Israel in a number of ways, militarily and economically.

Iran still has many, many cards it can play that will have a massive impact on the global economy.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is warning that “any miscalculated move will trap the enemy in the deadly whirlpools” of the Strait of Hormuz, after President Trump ordered a U.S. naval blockade of the waterway.

Trump’s latest ranting social media post came hours after talks between the U.S. and Iran collapsed in Pakistan, with Vice President JD Vance complaining that Tehran wouldn’t give in to Washington’s demands.

Instead, Iran has continued to stand firm on its red lines for a deal, which include a ceasefire for Lebanon, the right to continue uranium enrichment, and control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian media is reporting that a U.S. destroyer reversed course in the Strait of Hormuz in response to warnings from Iran that it would be targeted “within 30 minutes” if it continued. Axios is reporting that multiple U.S. warships have crossed the Strait, in their first attempt since the war began six weeks ago.

This, as talks begin between delegations from the U.S. and Iran in Islamabad, with Tehran making its red lines clear, which include: a ceasefire for the entire region, unfreezing Iranian assets, and control of the Strait of Hormuz,

Dr. Foad Izadi, an author and associate professor in the Department of American Studies at the University of Tehran, noted that Iran is prepared for every possibility, including the U.S. using these talks as another "deception" campaign to buy time for the next phase of the war.
