- Brittany Runs A Marathon - Spoiler Free and Spoiler Filled Minisode 003 - Racking Focus Podcast
This week John and his wife Lisa take a evening and relax on their couch to watch Brittany Runs A Marathon on Amazon Prime. Lisa has run a few half marathons and John wanted to share what he expected to be more on the "ROM COM" side of cinema after forcing her to watch US and SHAZAM. This one took us on a rich human journey that was quite unexpected and rewarding. When critics say earned tears, they mean it!. The first 5 minutes are spoiler free and then the last portion of the episode is spoiler filler so make wise choices as you listen. Lisa refused to talk but she is present during the recording.

- Parasite - SPOILER REVIEW - Racking Focus Podcast - Episode 23
We are not saying anything here that would spoil anyone even though this is a spoiler review. You have to listen to hear our thoughts about Bong Joon-ho's genre bending film. This funny, haunting, metaphorical, exciting, moody, masterwork of Korean cinema is worth the look. If you have not seen the movie, listen to our SPOILER FREE podcast to help you decide to see it and if you have joint us in our comfortable podcast home and hear our thoughts. We watched this late and recorded this in the car around 12:40 or so and we were tired. We will post our second half reflections and contest review later, when Josiah and John are back in the same town and not making art and it will reappear in your feed with the augmented material.

37 min - Parasite - SPOILER FREE REVIEW - Racking Focus Podcast - Episode 23
John and Josiah consider... well... we are not going to say a thing about this Korean film except, we loved it and listen to see why. Bong Joon-ho creates a moody, beautiful, funny, haunting film that we just don't want to spoil., BUT if you have seen it, be sure to listen to our in depth, although sleep deprived, spoiler filled episode.

16 min - The Lighthouse - SPOILER FREE - Racking Focus Podcast - Episode 22
This week Josiah, John and Alec all see The Lighthouse, Robert Eggers' masterwork of cinematic craft. Trapped in a car and then studio, our intrepid hosts slowly go mad trying to decipher the chronologically fractured, psychologically distorted, story of two men struggling to live day by day in a remote lighthouse with storms, mermaids and a really angry seagull. There is so much to talk about and we hope you will stick around for this thoughtful reflection of the film.

12 min - Joker - Spoiler Review - Racking Focus Podcast - Ep. 20
Josiah and John get lost in the gritty world of 1970's Gotham and consider the traumatic, violent, psychologically deceptive world of the Joker. Their love of this film as a work of cinema is undenieable but the conversation reels out into questions of vigilantism, fame, celebrity, morality and filmmaking. "Joker" is a film that requires though and reflection. The craftsmanship of the film inspired us to an extraordinary conversation. This is along one but full of content we would love your comments on......

About Racking Focus Podcast
From the publisher's feed
Films aren’t just meant to be viewed, but they’re intended to be discussed. If you’re anything like us, you love watching + talking about movies, but the problem is that sometimes there’s no one…
around you who gets your love for the cinema. So if you enjoy film analysis and a good conversation, then join us every other week as we discuss new or classic films. Our name comes from a filmmaking technique where the focus shifts over the course of the shot from one subject to another, known as racking focus. We chose this name because we shift our focus to different aspects of the film in review.
