  • Part 4: Prevailing Prayer

The prescription Jesus gives us is to stay awake at all times and pray.

You get all the strength you need by praying.

If you view the world through the lens of flesh, you’ll get all messed up. If you view it through the lens of the spirit, you will have victory.

God has given you spiritual night-vision.

Stay in step with the Holy Spirit.

Refuse to give up a single inch to the enemy.

    Prevailing Prayer must be:
    1. Intimate
    2. Persistent
    3. Militant

You’re so close to a miracle. Don’t lose heart.

    Pray until it happens.

Angels move at the weakest of our prayers.

To learn more about Radiant Church and to watch more videos like this one, visit www.radiant.church.

    Sermon Notes

    Joy is the believer’s super-power.

The joy of the Lord is my strength.

Don’t believe in statistics - believe in Jesus.

David remained loyal in times of trouble. He was a man of covenant.

If you don’t have joy, run to where it is.
There is life and joy in the presence of God

    The three enemies of Joy:
    • Fear
    • Anxiety
    • Worry

He will restore your joy and your peace

Rejoice until your want to wants to

    It’s a choice to rejoice

    Hope + Piece = Joy

You turned my wailing into dancing.

God is doing something remarkable in this Selah moment.

  • Part 3: Watch

Fasting reminds us that our world is not our home. In this series that coincides with our 21 days of prayer and fasting, we dive deep into the Mark 13 scripture that says take heed, watch and pray.

In Part Three titled Watch, Caleb Culver speaks on the importance of being a watchman and not becoming too comfortable and falling asleep.

Focus Scripture // MARK 13:32-37 (NKJV)

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”

    Sermon Highlights

    Why do we fall asleep?
    We're comfortable and we're bored.

Comfort that is given by God is grace that leads us to spiritual rest.

Comfort that is taken by man is idolatry that leads the spiritual slumber.

The world’s comfort is a false prophet that says “peace, peace” when there is no peace.

    The World’s Comforts:
    - Always involves taking
    - Done in isolation
    - Blinds your vision
    - Drains your strength
    - Imprisons its host

    God’s Rest:
    - Always involves receiving
    - Done in family
    - Gives you vision
    - Enables your strength
    - Empowers its recipient

    Rest comes after obedience.

We’re falling asleep because we’re not watching the right thing.

Pick a shift on the wall.

We fall asleep alone, we stay awake together.

  • Humble Yourselves Before The Lord

Join us for this special Seek sermon from Billy Humphrey where he teaches us to get low and dwell with the Father.

    Focus Scriptures

    Isaiah 57:15
    2 Chronicles 7:14
    Matthew 11:28-30

    Sermon Highlights

You’re not hiding from us, you’re hiding for us. As we seek you, we will find you.

    Jesus is directing the course.

He is madly in love with us.

We want to get low and dwell with the Father.

We are going to see a third great awakening in America.

We have to humble ourselves. And if we think we’re already humble, we need to humble ourselves some more.

God wants to set you free.

Nothing that is happening in the world right now is like Jesus.

There needs to be a transforming internally to humble ourselves.

    In God’s kingdom
    the first shall be last
    the last shall be first
and the lowest will have the most authority.

The only news you can believe right now is the good news.

    We get low before You.

  • Part 2: Keeping Yourself Free

Fasting reminds us that our world is not our home. In this series that coincides with our 21 days of prayer and fasting, we dive deep into the Mark 13 scripture that says take heed, watch and pray.

In Part Two titled Keeping Yourself Free, Lee Cummings speaks on deception how we can defend the attacks of the enemy.

Focus Scripture // GALATIANS 5:1 (ESV)

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”

    Sermon Highlights

Deception is one of the most diabolical tactics from the enemy.

Let the Holy Spirit examine you. Take Heed to yourself.

The Holy Spirit wrote through men, but He is the ultimate author.

    Deception happens slowly.

Do we spend as much time examining our soul as we do our appearance?

There is a mass demonic spirit of deception sweeping through our nation.

If he can deceive you, he can keep you from living out your purpose.

Your purpose is to know Jesus and make Him known.

We need to realize that we are human and that we need Him.

Deception doesn’t knock at the door. It comes by whatever we give authority in our lives to speak to us.

Politics is not the answer – the Gospel is.

  • Midnight Desperation

What would happen if we really leaned in to Jesus for 21 straight days? The time is now. Check out this sermon from Lee Cummings that kicked off our SEEK season!

Focus Scripture // Acts 16:25-34 (ESV)

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, 26 and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened. 27 When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, "Do not harm yourself, for we are all here." 29 And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas. 30 Then he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31 And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." 32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. 34 Then he brought them up into his house and set food before them. And he rejoiced along with his entire household that he had believed in God.”

The Spirit over our nation will be the Holy Spirit.

“When I’m in your church, I hear the sound of revival.”

What God said in the beginning is still holding everything together.

Every word ever spoken is still reverberating around the world.

Never underestimate the power of your words and your song.

The universe is a song that God sang in the beginning.

When you start singing, things begin to happen.

Praise in the mouths of God’s people is doing warfare.

What would happen if we really leaned in to Jesus for 21 straight days?

The key to experiencing revival on a corporate scale is first experiencing revival on a personal scale.

  • Part 1: The Circadian Rhythm of the Kingdom

Fasting reminds us that our world is not our home. In this series that coincides with our 21 days of prayer and fasting, we dive deep into the Mark 13 scripture that says take heed, watch and pray.

In Part One titled The Circadian Rhythm of the Kingdom, Lee Cummings kicks off the series by discussing the antidote to spiritual slumber.

Focus Scripture // Mark 13:32-37 (ESV)

“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come. 34 It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. 35 Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— 36 lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. 37 And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.”

    Sermon Highlights

    Wakefulness is watchfulness.

The antidote to spiritual slumber is to take heed, watch and pray.

Your body will always adjust to the time zone that you call home.

If we are not intentional about reminding ourselves what time zone we belong to, we begin to fall asleep spiritually.

The enemy wants to put you into a spiritual coma.

Fasting reminds us that our world is not our home.

If we spent as much time praying and in the word as we do in media, the voice of God would be very familiar with us.

    Proximity and practice are key.

Where is our home? We’re exiles, foreigners, and strangers here on this earth. Our citizenship is in Heaven – and we need to intentionally keep our hearts calibrated, aligned, and synced up with the Kingdom of God.

  • By Way Of Reminder

In this stand-alone sermon from Jon Zondervan, we dive into Romans 15 and discuss how God is in control and holds the final word.

To learn more about Radiant Church and to watch more videos like this one, visit www.radiant.church.

Focus Scripture // Romans 15:14-15 (ESV)

“I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another. 15 But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God.”

    Sermon Highlights

    GOD IS IN CONTROL

“Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, 3 “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.”4 He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.” Psalm 2:1-4 (ESV)

THE WORDS YOU SPEAK ARE POWERFUL

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Proverbs 18:21 (ESV)

    YOUR WORDS CREATE

“And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” Genesis 1:3 (ESV)

YOUR WORDS ARE AN OVERFLOW FOR WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART

“For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, 44 for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. 45 The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” Luke 6:43-45 (ESV)

YOUR PAST DOESN’T DETERMINE YOUR FUTURE

“O Lord, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; 2 many are saying of my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah 3 But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.” Psalm 3:1-3 (ESV)

YOUR PAST DOESN’T BELONG TO YOU

“18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” 20 and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” 21 So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, 23 and you are Christ's, and Christ is God’s." 1 Corinthians 3:18-23 (ESV)

GOD ALWAYS HAS THE FINAL WORD

“21 And the Philistines seized him and gouged out his eyes and brought him down to Gaza and bound him with bronze shackles. And he ground at the mill in the prison. 22 But the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.” Judges 16:21-22 (ESV)

  • Carrying Your Promise

Every promise that God has given us are yes and amen! Join us for Part Two of our Mary’s Miracle series from Lee Cummings as we unpack the Christmas story from the perspective of Jesus’ mother, Mary.

Focus Scripture // Luke 1:39-56 (ESV)

“In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah, 40 and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. 41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, 42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”

    46 And Mary said,
    “My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
    For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
    and holy is his name.
50 And his mercy is for those who fear him
    from generation to generation.
    51 He has shown strength with his arm;
    he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
    and exalted those of humble estate;
53 he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
54 He has helped his servant Israel,
    in remembrance of his mercy,
55 as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
56 And Mary remained with her about three months and returned to her home.”

    Sermon Highlights

The only way those promises come to pass are by His miraculous power.

Mary had to believe the promise, and then had to carry the promise.

We have to carry our promise to full term and let it grow, develop, and work inside of You.

What promise does God have for your life that He’s trying to reveal to you?

Whatever He is highlighting, He’s orchestrating.

Promise = “the Word of God that is working within you"

We’re called to meditate day and night on the Word.
    1. Protect Your Promise
    2. Process Your Promise
    3. Prophesy Your Promise

When Christ is magnified in us, we position ourselves for Christ to magnify through us.

  • The Problem With Favor

Jesus flips the script and takes impossibilities and turns them to probabilities. Join us for the kickoff of our Mary’s Miracle series from Lee Cummings as we unpack the Christmas story from the perspective of Jesus’ mother, Mary.⠀

Focus Scripture // Luke 1:26-38 (ESV)

“In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was
Mary. 28 And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” 29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. 30 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

34 And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?”

35 And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. 36 And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.” 38 And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.”

    Sermon Highlights

Grace = God’s response to the sinners faith-filled inability

Favor = God’s response to the saints faith-filled availability

Favor is always connected to God’s purposes.

Mary had the favor of God.

God is the anchor of our soul and hope.

Jesus is the author, and He writes magnificent stories.

Jesus flips the script and takes impossibilities and turns them to probabilities.

Favored are you… when God graciously interrupts your plans and invites you into His.

Favored are you… when you have to wrestle with what God is speaking to you to find clarity.

Favored are you… when your faith in who is with you is greater than what you are missing.
