  • Disarming Anger & Resolving Conflicts

If our marriages are going to remain pure and intimate, then we have to have an effective system for processing anger and problems. A good marriage isn’t a marriage where there is never conflict. A good marriage is one where anger can be processed and conflicts can be resolved.

Watch this special sermon from Pastor Jimmy Evans that will give you biblical understanding of how to deal with anger and how to resolve conflicts so you can have the pure and intimate marriage that God wants you to have.

  • Vision Weekend

Vision is more about “who” we are going to become than merely “what” we are going to do. We are all called together, to make a difference.

At Vision Weekend at Radiant, Pastor Lee shares wins from this season and casts vision for what’s on the horizon.

    FOCUS SCRIPTURE

    Ephesians 4:1-16 (NIV)
“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. 8 This is why it says:

    “When he ascended on high,

    he took many captives

and gave gifts to his people.”

9 (What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions? 10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.) 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”

    SERMON HIGHLIGHTS

VISION IS MORE ABOUT "WHO" WE ARE GOING TO BECOME THAN MERELY "WHAT" WE ARE GOING TO DO

WE ARE ALL CALLED TOGETHER, TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE – UNITY AND MATURITY

THE CHURCH, ALL OF US UNITED TOGETHER, IS GOD’S AGENCY OF CHANGE IN THE WORLD

MAKING A DIFFERENCE BEGINS BY MAKING A DECISION

DECISIONS ARE MADE BY WHAT WE ARE CONVINCED OF AND CONVICTED BY

3 DECISIONS I WANT EVERYONE TO MAKE IN ORDER TO BECOME UNITED IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE:

I BELONG TO THE FAMILY OF GOD AND I AM CALLED TO CONNECT AND SERVE ALONGSIDE OTHERS

I BELIEVE I AM CALLED TO BE A GIVER AND SEE MY FINANCES MAKE AN ETERNAL DIFFERENCE

I WILL BECOME MORE SPIRITUALLY ENGAGED BY GROWING AND GOING TO PRAYER

What is the baptism of the Holy Spirit and what are the outward signs of the Spirit?

In the Angels and Demons message, you mentioned that in Genesis 1:26, God says “let us make man in our image” and said that God was referring to the heavenly hosts and not the Holy Trinity. Can you explain this?

What is the right way to cast out a demon from someone and help them remain free?

What happens when we die? Where do we go? Does time relate differently?

Are ghosts real? Does the Bible give definition to ghosts? If so, how does this compare with Hollywood’s depiction or people’s experiences of unexplained phenomena?

Not only is there a clash between worldviews – there is a battle between two Kingdoms. Check out this sermon from Lee Cummings on the weapons that both from and fuel the Kingdom of God within us and from us.

    Focus Scripture
    Luke 11:14-23 (ESV)
“Now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke, and the people marveled. 15 But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons,” 16 while others, to test him, kept seeking from him a sign from heaven. 17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls. 18 And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. 19 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. 20 But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. 21 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe; 22 but when one stronger than he attacks him and overcomes him, he takes away his armor in which he trusted and divides his spoil. 23 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”

    Colossians 2:15 (NKJV)
“Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”

    Sermon Highlights

Not only is there a clash between Worldviews, there is a battle between two Kingdoms

This flashpoint is the theater of spiritual warfare – Where God’s Kingdom is exerting itself over the domain of spiritual darkness and it’s occupying force

Jesus came inaugurating the Kingdom of God = reign of God in the earth

Ultimately, Jesus defeated the power of Satan at the Cross, and by His resurrection – inaugurated the Kingdom of God – but not in it’s fullness

We must have a warfare mindset or become a casualty of the clash

There are weapons that both form and fuel the Kingdom of God within us and from us:

The sermon on the mount is the new constitution of the Kingdom of God

4 specific disciplines that form and fuel our inner man:

    A. Giving – Is a prophetic, counter-cultural protest of Kingdom allegiance

    B. Praying – Is a subversive invitation for the rule of God into the world through the gate of your life

    C. Fasting – Is a supernaturally seditious statement to your flesh of what you truly hunger and thirst for

    D. Worship – Is a systematic dismantling of the idols of society and self and enthronement of God

We live in a culture obsessed with superheroes and ancient aliens. Why is this? Because we know that there is another realm and supernatural realities. Listen to this sermon from Lee Cummings on how we can allow the Bible to instruct us on our supernatural worldview.

    Focus Scriptures

    Job 38:4-7
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements—surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”

    Ephesians 6:10-13
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.”

    Sermon Highlights

What does the Bible say about Angels and Demons?

God has two families: one in heaven (divine council), one on earth – humanity

At creation, two groups were present:
    Morning stars = Angels
Sons of God = divine council members that rule with God

Demons are fallen, disembodied spirit beings, in rebellion against God and His rightful rule

Demons are fallen angels that are under the leadership of the fallen cherubim, the devil

The devil and demons are subject to the authority of Christ and will one day be cast into the Lake of Fire forever

    The battle is real

We must recognize that we live in the middle of a battle zone - a spiritual battlefield

We must train and become familiar with our armor and weapons in the spirit

We must know and prepare ourselves for the strategies and the tactics of the enemy

You were made to win the fight and do great exploits

    Sermon Highlights

    We need the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is not just with us - He is in us

Jesus never preached or performed miracles before the Holy Spirit came upon Him

The same Holy Spirit that was with Jesus is living on the inside of you

He will lead us and guide us into what’s to come

We must develop our supernatural senses

The Holy Spirit is our Revealer of…
    1. Who God is

    2. Who we are

    3. What is ours

The Holy Spirit is our Empowerer

    John 14:16-17 (ESV)

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.”

    John 16:7 (ESV)

“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you."

    John 16:13-14 (ESV)
“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”

    Matthew 3:16-17 (ESV)
“And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.””

    Galatians 5:25 (ESV)

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.”.

    John 14:18 (ESV)
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

    1 Corinthians 2:12 (NLT)
“And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.”

    Acts 1:8 (ESV)

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

    Acts 2:1-4 (ESV)
“When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
