Anthropic disclosed a cybersecurity alignment review after similar incidents. The scary part isn't that the AI had feelings. The scary part is that the systems found the gap between the rule and the enforcement.🛑 The Builders Are Saying Slow DownDario Amodei, Sam Altman, even Elon Musk — the people racing are asking for brakes. That tells you something. But "slow down" can't mean "let the biggest companies write the rules so no one else can compete."💰 This Is Not Just AI. This Is Capital.Nvidia just acquired Hugging Face — the platform that hosts millions of models and reaches 18 million developers. You can't keep telling people AI is democratized while the infrastructure keeps getting swallowed by the same handful of companies.👷 Labor, Replacement & the Lie of EfficiencyIn an extreme AI scenario, labor's share of the economy could fall from 60% to 45% by 2030. Sanders and Takano reintroduced a 32-hour workweek bill tied directly to AI and automation. If AI makes us more productive, why is the default answer layoffs instead of shorter workweeks and better pay?👁️ Surveillance & AccountabilityAI makes monitoring cheaper and infinitely scalable. When corporate security, law enforcement, immigration, benefits, schools, insurance, and hiring all get AI-powered risk scoring — "the AI did it" cannot become the new version of "no one is responsible."⚖️ The Law Is BehindCourts are applying 2002 precedent to 2026 technology. A Seventh Circuit ruling on AI-generated CSAM basically sent up a flare: the Supreme Court needs to catch up.
