The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) has dismissed claims that they are not planning to take part in a meeting between the management of Northam mine in Limpopo, the NUM, and the Police. The President of AMCU Joseph Mathunjwa says instead, the police in Polokwane stood them up after postponing a meeting from Monday which was meant to resolve the situation at the mine. This follows violent clashes that broke out during the weekend after one mine worker was killed and another critically injured. To get an update on this, we spoke to AMCU President, Joseph Mathunjwa.
