The City of Johannesburg says it is worried about the health implications of the on-going Pikitup strike. The strike enters its 4th week and has left many parts of the province in a mess that could soon be a huge health risk. About 4-thousand Pikitup workers and members of SA Municipal Workers' Union (Samwu) are still protesting for salary increament. Bongi Gwala spoke to the MEC of Health in Gauteng Qedani Mahlangu

Mbete, who was accompanied by NCOP chairperson Thandi Modise, briefed the media in Parliament on the implications of the Constitutional Court ruling on the Public Protector's report on Nkandla. The South African Communist Party Constitutional Court is calling for a decisive action after the Constitutional Court judgement on Nkandla. It says the judgement is a clear warning signal to the ANC, the alliance, and to the government. The alliance warns that if decisive action is not taken, the continuing loss of moral authority, political paralysis and fragmentation of the movement will continue.
