Families living in five state farms in Stellenbosch are facing a bleak future, after being handed eviction notices from the provincial Department of Transport and Public Works. The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Rights of Communities (CRL Rights Commission) says they are investigating the commercialisation of religion by Pastors. The Commission has issued a summons to several pastors to appear before it. This follows a complaint by the South African Council of Churches (SACC) against Pastor Lesego Daniels of Raboni Ministries and Pastor Penuel Mnguni who recently made members of their congregations eat grass and snakes. The EFF has given all JSE listed companies a month to respond to it's demands or face a total shut down. On Tuesday the party marched to chamber of mines, reserve bank and the JSE with a set of demands centred around better pay for mine workers, regulation of the banking sector and economic transformation. While march was generally peaceful chaos erupted at the JSE after thousands of EFF members refused to comply with security measure set up by the a private security company and the police. 500 NUM members have spent 5 nights underground at the ASA Dilokong mine near Burgersfort in Limpopo, as part of a protest action.
