Eskom has reached payment agreements with ten out of 20 defaulting municipalities, after the power supplier threatened to begin power cuts in June. Eskom says electricity supplies of municipalities that have entered into a payment agreement with the utility will not be interrupted. On April 10, The power utility announced plans to interrupt bulk electricity supply to the defaulting municipalities which owe the utility almost four billion rand.
